Macklemore and Ryan Lewis give new meaning to “popping tags” on this new track off their upcoming album, The Heist. The video drops tomorrow, but here’s what Mack has to say about the recording.
I am the most prolific thrift shopper in the rap game right now. What Bob Barker is to the Price Is Right, I am to used fringe jackets.
i just don’t see it with this guy…i mean no hate or illwill, good luck for sure, but i never fully understood why he was on the freshman cover..
has that beastie boys sound though..fucks with the beat..
Lame I dont get what people see in him he will never be on the charts like Mac Miller
dudes wack
like what the fuck is he saying?
Macklemoore is dope!!! You niggas trippin
First song of their’s I’ve really liked. great beat…..dope
If you actually think Mac Miller spits more meaningful lines that make sense than Macklemore your fucked in the head.
If you’re from the North West, especially Seattle area, you love him. Just like Mac Miller is to Pittsburgh, Macklemore is Seattle’s #1 Hip Hop artist.
Much love man. Can’t wait until you cruise out to the NW again!
you are all whack! hes gonna be the next top thing!
“he will never be on the charts like Mac Miller”
Oh my god, I sure as hell hope he doesn’t do anything like Mac Miller, ever.
“like what the fuck is he saying?”
“They be like ‘Ohh, that Gucci, thats hella tight!’ I’m like ‘Yo, thats fifty dollars for a t-shirt.’ Limited edition, lets do some simple addition. Fifty dollars for a t-shirt that’s just to make you their bitch.”
yo its all about where you from. i dont understand how a lotta fools on that freshman cover get any love. but he’s all the hype in the pac nw. just a different vibe out here. this aint his best shit tho. been a mack fan since like 08 and this shit aint fresh…
I still don’t understand why people take time to write hate comments…Your mom told me last night to tell you once again… “If you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything at all”
hey stan, macklemore actually has soul, instead of messages about weed and shit. say what you like about him never making the charts, but if you think that makes him lame i think that makes you shallow.
Shit’s crazy. Macklemore is amazing.
Sorry but this is entire song dedicated to thrift shopping… wack,
This song isn’t about thrift shopping, it’s about how overrated spending ridiculous amounts of money on material shit.
@ Stan.. Mac Miller fucking sucks
People talking about miller, yes hes in charts because he sings shitty mainstream like justin bieber, burn 😉
Fuck Mac miller.
Macklemore speaks from within and doesn’t fuck with that material shit.
But honestly, this song is not that good. Looking forward to hearing some more new macklemore tho…
Mac Miller blows y’all
Dope ass song. Macklemore kills it on the regular nowadays. And mac miller? really? i still havent found one single song of his that compares to half of macklemore’s shit. Mack puts out THOUGHTFUL sick lyrics with killer beats. One of the only real hip hop artists left out there The Heist is gonna be the sheeit.
Oh and to all of ya that think he is whack or whatever its prolly cause you dont really even know shit about him. A year ago he sold out over 35 straight shows on the EAST COAST and west coast before he even started touring. Eminem is the only white rapper ever who has ever had that kind of fan following/desire to be seen ever. And if you ever see one show you will know why.
This is gas to put in the car on the way to the thrift shop
and you can like both Mac Mill’s style and Macklemore’s…both very different if you listen to styles and beats. Both raw and have mad respect
Awesome song. Love it!
It’s not hard to understand what he’s saying, just listen, it all makes perfect sense to me at least. Maybe you just can’t comprehend it.
Cgent says,
whoever said they don’t see anything in Macklemore as a rapper obviously does not understand what amazing hip-hop music is.
