The real issue that nobody is pointing out is that this whole “new direction” for Lupe is being used solely as a marketing angle for an album release. His album is being released by a Major Label, with real money being spent to promote it, to the benefit of major corporate interests. It’s literally crazy that anybody out there really thinks this “artist” can make a video supposedly attacking the system and the video gets played on MTV, BET and all the rest, and he’s regularly booked on these networks as a guest promoting his shit. Did you notice that he rocks a Rolex? Did you realize that one of his last singles was a big mainstream pop hit? Pay attention kids.. You’re being sold the fuck out..
