Earlier today, Freddie Gibbs confirmed that he’s severed ties with Jeezy’s CTE, which just inked a new distribution deal with Atlantic Records. Da Snowman issued a statement regarding the split. As the world turns.
“Freddie is a talented artist and I decided that it’s time to press reset on my career and business ventures. I have no doubt that Freddie will go on to be everything I believe he can be, and I wish him the best in his career. This is a fresh start for the CTE brand as we re-launch it. This is why I chose to wipe the slate clean and create an outlet to support and nurture new artists to the best of my ability.”

But BFK was one of, if the best mixtape of 2012. No denying it. Even got 100k + DLs on DatPiff…seems like Gibbs got some buzz generated. He needs to make a BIG move in the very near future (i.e. drop a song with a big name, release that Madlib project, sign to somebody etc)
