New Video: Snoop Lion Ft. Drake x Cori B “No Guns Allowed”

Snoop and his daughter Cori B increase the peace with Drake in their new visual aid. The track will appear on Snoop’s album Reincarnated which arrives on April 23rd. In regards to the song, Snoop says:

“It’s a powerful song and we hope to spread a positive message that hits home with people. We’ve seen too much bloodshed involving guns and we want to prevent the next incident from happening. That’s what’s it all about, trying to bring awareness and push love and peace.

    Nuff Respect!!!

  2. King says:

Damn this was pretty cool until Drake sucked. I definitely wasn’t expecting that to be the case.

It’s kind of weird that Snoop is speaking on this particular topic, but then again, it IS called “Reincarnated”

  3. rahrahrah says:

I’d love to see a sea of remixes to this.

  4. Your mother's "friend" says:

This is good, respect to Snoop for doing this, something needs to change

  5. Converse says:

I know this get thown around a lot but this is one of the best videos of the year hands down….song go hard to not sure where the hate comes from

  6. As Real As It Gets says:

A Gangsta rapper preaching non violence? Yeah right!

  7. rahrahrah says:

    @As Real As it Gets…

Is that all Snoop is? “A gangsta rapper”
    Isn’t he an actor, a coach, a father, a businessman, a husband, a citizen,..

If all you are looking for in life are the hypocrisies and inconsistencies that is all you will find.

  8. DK says:

Snoop is hardly a “gangsta rapper” anymore, and hasn’t been predominantly since roughly around when ‘The Last Meal’ came out. I’m not particularly buying the Snoop Lion-new persona thing he’s trying to push, but this song as a standalone track shows growth for him as an artist, which (at least in my opinion) has been long overdue for him.

The man is past 40 now. Do you really think he could make an album like ‘Doggystyle’ or ‘The Doggfather’ at his age? Art (music especially) oftentimes is an expression of who the artist is AT THE TIME; and if it’s done right, a fan can feel after many years of following said artist that they have grown up with them. I’ve had that particular experience with Eminem, having heard ‘The Slim Shady LP’ when it came out when I was 11, and growing up with him all the way to ‘Recovery.’

I listened to it for the first time today and expected to hate it, but ‘No Guns Allowed’ is one of the most genuine songs I’ve heard Snoop do in a long time; somewhat of an epilogue to “Li’l Ghetto Boy” from ‘The Chronic.’ Much Respect.

    GREAT MESSAGE, HORRIBLE SONG!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  10. rahrahrah says:

    @mac DIESEL

    “HORRIBLE”?

Can you give me a reference. I’d like to know what else you put in that category. I know a lot of songs that are better than this. Go listen to Chronixx, for a good yute doing conscious reggae. This isn’t authentic, and there are a lot of criticisms I can level at it. but “HORRIBLE”?

I would like to see some good artists get on a remix and make it better. Imagine Nas, and damian doing a remix to this to lead off their next album together?

This song could be made great. I don’t think you could make a horrible song great.

  11. mac DIESEL says:

    @ rahrahrah

SNOOP SOUNDS SILLY TRYIN’ TO HARMONIZE WIT HIS CORNY ISLAND ACCENT!!!! DRAKE SEEMS OUT OF PLACE!!!! AND THE CHORUS IS CHEESY!!!! IT’S A BAD RECORD!!!! A+ FOR THE MESSAGE THOU!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  12. rahrahrah says:

    @mac

I anticipated that you would have many legitimate criticisms. Thanks for listing them. But what other horrible song is in that category? Could you help me with that one?

I think that all gold song is horrible. Sorry Mr. James. It’s funny as fuck, and it’s like prophecy to rahtid “Don’t believe me just watch!”. Came true didn’t it?

I don’t put this in that same category.

  13. mac DIESEL says:

    @ rahrahrah

I’LL SAY IT’S A BAD RECORD AND WE’LL CALL IT EVEN!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  14. smittyhii says:

i love this song/peep tha messege/stop tha violence/we’re headed for self destruction

  15. tonyblunt says:

damn i must say this is honestly the first wack verse i’ve heard froom aubrey. ppl give him hate but all know his bars be on point. but this verse lol *facepalm*

  16. JOHNYblaze says:

song wasnt as bad as I expected neither. Drake blows but I rather him talk positive than greazy street jew boy fronting/stunting shit.

Message is good and was presented nicely without being too “preachy” or cheesy.

  17. BBGUN says:

How about cori b? She only has one song and she is already passed diggy.

  18. ilexx says:

I like the song and video personally. I may not be the biggest supporter of Snoop Lion because I am not sure how serious he is taking it and I won’t know until a year or two later but for now I like the message he is promoting.

@rahrahrah thank you for bringing up a ute like Chronixx, di world need fi know dem man deh.

On the other side, people need to realize that even gangsters have to grow up if they survive past a certain age. Same goes for drug dealers and pimps. Everybody should be allowed to express that change. Big up snoop for putting his daughter on a record like this and showing her a better example to live by.

  19. Da truf says:

I respect snoop for a new and pure path for his music , but Drake ruined the song hes awful

  20. ocmmsac says:

dreake totally fucked up this song.the one time it was ok for him to sing he spits a whack verse lol

  21. Shane says:

Drake ruined this great song. Who decided it would be a good idea? Such a shame.
