Wale’s got a reason a to celebrate. According to early reports, his latest LP The Gifted will top the Billboard charts tomorrow. This will mark his first number one album. Congratulations to the entire MMG empire. Download it here.

Yeah I heard final numbers are in between 140-150k which is a joke considering ambition sold 164k first week and did not have a top 25 billboard hit like this one..or a “Rihmix” or commercials during the BET Awards..the only explanation is that maybe this time around Ross didn’t buy 50k of them. It’s not jealousy because I was such a Wale stan and I even hope that he would sell a lot more in hopes that people would take the time to listen to the artist that he was becoming before he sold out to MMG and ask for that Wale to record more instead of this getting geetchi buffoon he’s become.

Fuck numbers just appreciate the music. The quality of the work is whats most important and he delivered on this album. Lyrically he’s on another level and the production was sick.
@Jav I’m from The DMV I saw Wale when he was underground at open mics and at the community college competitions. He didn’t change his style at all going to MMG you forget MMG was not even a real label Ross Meek and Wale Built MMG it was because of those three it became a real label. So stop with the MMG changed him. Him being with Ross and Meek changed how you all saw him. He always rapped consciously and party but its cool you don’t hear me though just like you don’t hear his growth you just see Ross and Meek when you listen to him now. If he left MMG and made the same music yall would love it and say see MMG was the issue. p
I just wonder who do some of you I won’t say haters because I know you all don’t like being called that so we will say Novice Critics listen to and think is a good artist. Modern artist no Big No Pac No Pun No Jay No NAS What new artist do you not give your harsh Novice Criticism too?

I admit my question about posting his numbers was a slight reach….but the rest of my comment is far from reaching. As soon as you so clearly align yourself with a group of artists you lose all journalistic credibility. Hip hop would be in a great deal better shape right now if hip hop journalists held artists accountable for themselves instead of just blindly promoting their vlogs, videos, interviews and trash music.

Rick Ross changed him then. You can’t compare More About Nothing to Folarin and say they are the same. Look at the production, look at his lyric content, look at his features, it all changed. Compare Black and Gold to Vanity and there you have the difference a sell out makes.
