Peter Rosenberg “40 Years Hip-Hop” Mix

They said it wouldn’t last, but yesterday, Hip-Hop turned 40 years old. Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg celebrated our culture’s soundtrack with 2 hours of 70s and 80s tunes.
The whole “Hip-Hop” birthday things comes across as mad corny because it ignores the grass roots origin of the style. The anniversary simply parks the public debut of the genre, but the true birth of the style is much harder to define.
