    Bad ass song!

  2. aboynamedandy says:

    *Yawn*

How is Em even relevant in 2013 anymore? If he’s not talking really, really fast or rehashing that “real hip-hop” argument (which might have been helpful 3 years ago, not today), he’s making music for 12 year olds to dance to.

  3. Micke says:

    Definetly a hit.

    1. Ray says:

Album leaked man. It ain’t good. It’s alright. The new official league of rap record reviewers, Pitchfork is going to have a field day with this album. Maybe score it less than Jay’s abysmal 5.8 on MCHG.

  4. Chronic says:

god damn man, right when I think this might be a return of the old em with rap god we get some pop ass bullshit like this…lookin more and more like we might be receiving Recovery 2, especially with the other people he got for features

    1. LesterDaMolester says:

      Oh, he’s too mainstream
Well, that’s what they do when they get jealous, they confuse it
It’s not hip hop, it’s pop, cause I found a hella way to fuse it
With rock, shock rap with Doc
Throw on Lose Yourself and make ’em lose it
I don’t know how to make songs like that
I don’t know what words to use
Let me know when it occurs to you
While I’m ripping any one of these verses, that versus you
It’s curtains, I’m inadvertently hurtin’ you
How many verses I gotta murder to prove
That if you were half as nice at songs, you can sacrifice virgins too – rap god

      1. Chronic says:

except theres nothing to do with rock, shock rap or dre on this song…this is literally nothing but a sellout pop song

        1. Mykal says:

How could you see a tracklist with a song featuring Rihanna and expect anything other than a pop song??

        2. LesterDaMolester says:

see yeah thing is is this really pop ? have u heard some of the gay ass shit other rappers are dropping feauturing pop artists with no talent just money… does a catchy rhianna hook really make it some pop sellout damn u cant even deny em is a beast on the mic even with more radio soundin songs like this

          1. Chronic says:

the content is stupid and yes the beat is some corny ass pop-house music shit…and this is the most generic rhianna part ive ever heard in any of her songs

          2. LesterDaMolester says:

and u say contents stupid.. why because hes spittin about fame well lets face it hes not gonna be spittin about kim halie and his mom no more hes past that and his lifes much better these days but still id say atleast wait until the album drops rap god proven hes still not to be fucked with on the mic so who knows

          3. Chronic says:

first lets get this straight, hes the one who named the album after one of the classics so hes the one that made the expectations so high for his old fans who grew up listening to it
if he had named the album something else I probably wouldn’t be as off-put by the song as I am….but when you name the album a sequel to an album that straight rips on pop music and pop-stars the whole time how can you then make this shit

          4. LesterDaMolester says:

hes not gonna refuse to work with pop stars just because years ago on the first LP he dissed pop stars he did that just for hyoe and because he wanted to seperate himself from people who kept labellin him pop but have u forgot he worked with a pop singer on the first 1? and his old fans well maybe they should grow up there that stuck in his old era they are put off by most things he does today because its different hes not gonna sound just like he did back then he was mentally in a different place he even said ihe let off alot of emtions he was feelin at the time on that album but todays for him its just about making music and stil proving hes a top mc least he aint dumb down like alot of rappers

          5. Chronic says:

its not that I want him to sound like the old em…I just don’t want sellout bullshit over horrible beats…I want some good rap music

          6. Mykal says:

Well hopefully a chunk of the rest of the album will have some good rap music. These days you can never accurately gauge an album based only on the singles released prior. My favorite songs on Em’s first 3 albums never touched the radio.

          7. joe smoe says:

so dido on the hook of stan isnt pop? biggest song off mmlp

          8. Chronic says:

well one that was just a sample he used, didn’t go ask her for a hook. and two the content of that song went so well with the hook and it was more r&b then pop. plus that beat was just cold, and a song from the view point of a crazy fan was just a crazy ass concept

          9. Mykal says:

It is 100% pop. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with that. It’s totally expected that any artist backed by a big label will have a song or 2 aimed at POPular radio. It is what it is supposed to be. The radio will play the s**t out of it as intended.

          10. LesterDaMolester says:

u know what i cant exactly argue there but u cant say it aint hip hop either like he already said hes good at fusing the both so i dont get y most people bitch about it

  5. Neal says:

    Wow Em killed this

  6. tlox says:

Has that Macklemore beat to it…Rap/Pop

  7. Shady08 says:

Doesn’t fit on a sequel to MMLP!

    1. D-Rod says:

Let’s thank the lawd that it’s not suppose to be. Em said it’s not a sequel.

      1. Chronic says:

then he shouldn’t have named it marshal mather lp “2” cause the “2” makes it seem like a sequel

        1. D-Rod says:

Is his name still Marshal Mathers? Yes. So this is him right now in 2013. Marshal Mathers is a person not an album. The person that made MMLP is the same person at a different time in his life at a different time in hip hop, for MMLP 2. It’s his prerogative to name it what he wants and decide what it’s suppose to mean – once he explains it we are to accept the art for what the artist wants it to be.

          It’s just so nit-picky your complaint…

          1. ilexx says:

D-Rod just think about it for a second.. Why do you really think he named it MMLP 2?

If artistically it was going to be so far from its predecessor, that is one argument but to come out and say an album that is a PART 2 but isnt a sequel should tell you everything you need to know………

He named it MMLP 2 simply for the name alone and its tasteless in my opinion. There are so many people that have a connection with MMLP because it was one of his highest selling LP’s right? And you go and slap the name MMLP 2 on an album that is sonically way closer to Recovery 2??!?!?

Then ask yourself if he named it Recovery 2 do you think as much ppl would want to buy it? HELL NO!

So the gimmick here is lets leverage the brand power of the name MMLP and that is all that is being done here.

          2. D-Rod says:

Bro, you’re pressed about way too many hypothetical questions. I write statements. Naming it MMLP 2 may be a gimmick, but it’s working because we’re commenting about the title.

Can we just take music for what it is in the moment? The nostalgia in the hip hop community is irrational. Yes, MMLP will always be a classic, and probably his best work. However, let’s take this album for the moment of where we are and what this life is now. MMLP will always evoke a plethora of emotions and memories, but now this is MMLP 2 – gimmick or no gimmick. Take it for what it is. All these hip hop artists have to deal with us comparing them to when they started which is when they had their whole life to create for those first projects and expectations were none, and we were seeking something new…now they are who they are and let’s critique by the thought process and content of what it is.

All I’m saying is don’t be like this is trash or you dislike it because of the title…just give us the 100% bout the music.

          3. Crespo says:

i agree with u a 100 percent. That is another problem Jay is having.U watch review videos of youtube of someone playing reasonable doubt and comparing Jay;s voice with the present.I mean come on man.Just judge it for what it is now.Not saying the new jay album is classic but its a good album but if u compare it like that and put your mind in the 90’s u would call it thrash.Jay got money now and he raps about what he has now.He is no more in the street. Now Em on the other hand should be given more credit. He has kept it 100 percent lyrical than jay has even with some pop additions. This era of music has changed. The new fan base need a pop feel and Em wants to still sell the best so he would infuse the pop in it.Back then the weather was not like this.Plus he told u on Rolling Stone that this is not a sequel whats your problem? he gave u a 6 minutes pure rap of rapgod .That song sounds so much like MMLP original. So whats this guys problem? if one song can make u disconnect u can leave the fanbase.Trust me Em got so many fans. This people think Em came to die for them or something.Berzerk rapgod straight hiphop.i am sure the rest of the album will be too.Joe Budden even confirmed that.

          4. thedude says:

bro, MM stand for Marshal Mather’s. which is Eminems real name. Why did he used his name for the album ? Cause the album was representing who Marshal Mathers is. The album was Marshal Mathers at that time. Dude, it makes so much sense for him to name his new album MMLP2 . its like now and before. MMLP represents Marshal Mathers in 2000, MMLP2 represents Marshal Mathers in 2013.

          5. Starlion says:

            u stans r hilarious

          6. Starlion says:

MMLP is his absolute classic of his career. The pick of MMLP 2 is not innocent u fool. it’s raise great expectations and therefore increase risks of deception. it’s a gift and a curse. So far it’s been an epic let down.

          7. D-Rod says:

Fool? You can’t have a friendly debate without calling me a name like a 5th grader…?

To me, just by typing your last sentence alone I would have been like, “you know what I can respect that opinion”. You also need to realize I never wrote it was innocent. Please, for everything you want to say and/or express don’t try to quote or paraphrase me and get it wrong.

But I respect that last opinion of yours.

          8. Starlion says:

Don’t be so sensitive. I said fool because I really think you sound foolish trying too hard to protect Em from potential critics. Naming it MMLP2 he know’s what he’s doing.
Let it be about the music only.. It’s still a let down.

          9. nahhh says:

No! Eminem can’t do what he wants. We as the fans made him who he is. We made him successful. If we didn’t pay for his music he’d still be in the trailer park. So EMINEM OWES US. WE MADE YOU! Now pay us back!

        2. jake says:

thank god it’s not a sequel at this point and time. a sequel needed to be done at least a decade ago if it was going to happen. he’s too old now, his life is completely different and the times are different. his lyrics back then reflected his young who gives a fuck type attitude and he was always being attacked for controversial lyrics which hyped him up to say a bunch of fucked up shit to people. these days he’s pretty much got universal respect and has somehow turned into a family friendly image since he decided to do radio friendly songs. i do miss the days when you would hear guilty conscience on the radio but i’d rather get something authentic from him and where he’s at now instead of forcing a sequel to his old style of rapping so late in his career. his new style is fucking tight still and he’s worlds above most other rappers. right now he stepped into serious mode instead of controversy mode and really decided to let his poetic skills out and it’s reminding me more of tupacs music. the substance isn’t quite the same usually but the passion is comparable.

    2. Espio says:

Aren’t all albums after the artists first release sequels? They’re not going to sound the same just like movies won’t look the same. They have elements that are reminiscent, but a new take on subject matter.

    3. Ray says:

Album leaked and it’s total garbage.

  8. UnknownUniverse says:

This is definitely going to be Recovery 2.

  9. The Association of Chronos says:

Dope…. Yes, people are going to hate this and I understand this. As a Em fan I have matured Lol. I would of been mad if I heard this back then but, I don’t think people realize that this is not a “Continuation sequel” like a “Breaking Bad” series. This is “MMLP2” NOW. Where is Em at NOW in his life. Of course this is meant for the radio its obvious. And yes, we would all like for Em to make a album with straight Hip-Hop but, lets be honest its the music BUSINESS. Songs like these have to be on the album for the record to get attention. Its like being mad at a trailer for a Movie. Its there to promote the album. Plus, this is a good Pop song. It serves its purpose. There is nothing wrong with fucking with other different genres of music. Plus, the content matches the THEME of “MMLP2”. Its relatable to a lot of people. Again, its a “Trailer for the Movie” single…. Good song

    1. ilexx says:

      You must be nuts…

This song is not even halfway decent. Absolute garbage in my opinion.

      1. Tony M says:

not a rihanna fan, but her cover is well delivered and precise on this track. I’m a huge eminem fan, since the original slim shady lp, but Em’ really drops the ball here. His raps sound forced and not fluid enough. There used to be a time when Em’ could spit a bar or two saying some dope shit while making it look easy. Now it sounds like everything he does is too calculated and trying desperately hard to invent bars that, while they fit together in clever ways, don’t sound all that good. Not to mention the content is slightly irrelevant.

      2. Tony M says:

      3. ShatteredWorld says:

        Key words: “In my opinion”

    2. ray says:

Album leaked and it’s pretty bad.

  10. Chronic says:

and honestly every beat so far has been mediocre to just straight bad

  11. smh says:

this is recovery all the way why call it mmlp thats a damn shame

  12. tlox says:

Feels like Em is releasing a song every week….

  13. Abe6772 says:

Rap God was levels above everything, but this is kinda gay lol. And I’m a eminem fan, I can say this

    1. D-Rod says:

What do you mean by gay? Keep that basic elementary slang for your basic narrow-mind.

      1. danknessss says:

He means gay you fag. Put that word back in your vocab. Dont let homos choose what the word mean.s It means soemthing unacceptable or pandering. Faggot means annoying as fuck like people like you who tell me how to talk. FUck off.

        1. D-Rod says:

If you’re a speaker of the English language than you’d understand it doesn’t mean unacceptable or pandering. If you’re creating your own cultural definition, then fine.

As to telling you how to talk… I don’t care. It’s just that “gay” is a community and group. They deserve to not be associated with unacceptable or pandering, or annoying or whatever you want.

At one point in time there were many words to describe African Americans and Blacks with negative connotations. Many people have fought, rightfully so, to eradicate that language.

If you want to be some savage uneducated hoodlum and talk which ever way you want go ahead…at the end of the day you may end up with a son or close relative who’s, “unacceptable or pandering and annoying”…I hope you remember this post then.

          1. Neil Patrick Harris says:

i have a gay cousin who just called this song really gay lol and i agree. this song sucks balls

    2. Ray says:

      Album leaked and it’s awful.

      1. Abe6772 says:

Did it? I don’t believe you

        1. Ray says:

It leaked. Whether you believe it’s awful is up to you. But IMO, it’s awful. I mean bad. Real bad.

  14. Broski 3000 says:

Cant tell a lie, i dont like it. You can tell its primed for radio

  15. Abe6772 says:

Slim shady is the monster lol

  16. Killa P says:

i blame it on the producers, smh… pop music is terrible

    1. Mykal says:

Blame it on the labels and the radio. Producers want to get paid, so they are going to cater to what’s being played on the radio. Labels want to sell albums, so they are going to want a couple songs that’ll be played on the radio. That is the formula when you’re dealing with a POPular artist.

  17. jimmy says:

at this point give me the kendrick and eminem track so i can recover from this crap

  18. BlahBlah204 says:

Seems to be like he made this song to try and make a radio hit instead of just make the music he used to make. Not terrible but Rap God makes this sound like a little girl song.

  19. MrSkeezyMak says:

    Def a radio friendly track.

    1. BlahBlah204 says:

I wish these artist would stop making music for the radio and make the music that got them to where they are.

  20. 400_Degreez says:

Eminem can still rap his ass off. But unfortunately, I just don’t enjoy his recent music

  21. LesterDaMolester says:

here we go with the oh this shits pop blah blah blah yo this is actually much better than love the way you lie hes control of flow is incredible hes smooth and aggressive same time just because hes got a catchy hook with rhianna dont mean dude fell off shit atleast he aint on that dance music techno rap shit em has kept himself true to the art to this date like i said i doubt theres gon be alot of these type sounding songs anyway he aint gonna name it MMLP2 if hes not willin to bring rawness back

    1. Chronic says:

love the way you lie is way better, much better hook and beat and em is actually spitting a message everyone can relate to instead of whining about his celebrity status

      1. LesterDaMolester says:

your confusin bro u the same dude that said this some pop sellout bullshit but then say love the way you lie was better when thats more pop sounding in my opinion but its kool your opinion. i think he went harder on this song i wouldnt say love way you lie was shit just got tired of young bitches gettin excited everytime the hook comes and not knowin the words

        1. Chronic says:

I mean that was pop bulshit too, im just saying it was better than this

  22. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

Push them album release dates back. That boy Marshall got an album coming back. Shady/Aftermath !

  23. Scott Wega says:

You don’t judge Eminem by his radio singles. They are only to sell records. You can tell his flow is back and the rest of the record will be hits to the real fans. Even his my name is and the real slim shady werent classics to true fans. Rap gods will be more of what the album will be. They could never play a song like that in rotation!

    1. GreenBergs says:

let us pray that rap god is more like what the album will sound like…

      1. Starlion says:

        “let us pray” lol #stans

    2. sway-z says:

But why though? Why is Eminem above having good singles? If anybody else puts out weak singles, it’s a problem. Make no mistake, I have every Em album including Infinite, I like his shit. That being said, he shouldn’t be exempt from putting out good singles though.

      1. Crespo says:

it is not a weak single its a pop single.Thats what is killing hiphop now. Some of u judge from your perspective,i put myself in the shoes of a pop or rock fan.The single is going to be no 1 how is that a weak single. Cos its not for u.

  24. #TheMonster is nothing short of amazing. SMH RiRi BODIED too. Salute rap god Eminem & Rihanna #MMLP2 #TIMELESS

    1. GreenBergs says:

hoo the fuck is paying you bruh?

      1. Your mother. Stop questioning me showing love to artists I respect. #TIMELESS

  25. Step says:

The verses have substance. Hes obviously going to release a radio single, but listen to the lyrics they form a story. As pop as this may sound, the verses are deeper than anything youll hear on the radio. Get used to hearing it cus this is going to be EVERYWHERE. Haters gonna hate slater’s gonna slate.

  26. JRobson23 says:

People who are hating on this expect too much from Eminem.. You all want the classic ‘Slim Shady’ stop expecting it because you aren’t getting it, he’s past it all. Eminem has done what many artists can’t do and thats adapt to the current times.. this isn’t hip hop? you do realize Dr Dre and Rick Rubin are the exec. producers of the album.. That says to me Rap, Hip Hop and Rock.. Hip Hop has evolved into this, there’s a difference between rap and hip hop, accept it. Could be worse, could be listening to Justin Bieber on RAPRADAR..

  27. Patrick Wiley says:

im a die hard eminem fan, but this song is almost un-listenable. I appreciate his lyrics, but this beat + rihanna is god awful. God damn. Still hoping for a good album, though.

  28. Ian says:

This sounds like a Recovery throw away song with far worse rapping

  29. SmOKiNkUSHDaiLy562 says:

Yall gotta realize MMLP was 13 years ago lol…hes in a way different place right now.

  30. NLG says:

“its payback, Russell Wilson falling way back, in the draft, making nothing out of something!” SEATTLE lets goo!

    1. george says:

isnt it “turn nothing into something” XD

  31. R says:

There will never be a Marshal Mathers LP again this is Caca not even close to MMLP. Rapgod was MMLP Material!

  32. GreenBergs says:

so whats the verdict? is it good im too scared to press play..

  33. Steven says:

All of these haters are trapped in the box.

  34. GreenBergs says:

this is of course gnna b played non stop like “love the way you lie” just bcuz of all the payola that goes on in this industry, this is straight bullshit, rapgod and the rest of the album wont make up for what this dude has done to his legacy and the marshall mathers lp…

  35. dsffysco says:

Albums need radio friendly music. That’s what this is.

    1. GreenBergs says:

this isn’t what the public wants on the radio or from em, but will it be on the radio? your damn right it will be…

      1. Mykal says:

This is exactly what the majority of the public wants on the radio. That is exactly why it was created and will played 1 billion times on the radio. Hardcore fans are the ones that don’t want it. But don’t think for a second that an artist backed by a big label isn’t going to put out a single that appeals to radio.

        1. GreenBergs says:

b the people have no choice but to like this song, its going to be played on the radio over a track like rapgod and thats why hip hop stations are taken as a joke and hip hop as a whole has become a clown show, this shit aside from rihanna has no musical replay value to it whatsoever…like im not even a hardcore fan im just saying noone likes the yelling and his new flow,NOBODY

          1. Chronic says:

I will say im from Hartford and rap god is all over the radio here

          2. GreenBergs says:

really, i have yet to hear it in nyc…

          3. themindofdre says:

            Because NY radio sucks

        2. ilexx says:

The public doesn’t decide nor do they know what they want on the radio it is forced on them until they accept it, never forget that.

I am also inclined to agree with GreenBergs, this shit has no replay value whatsoever. The beat is horrible and the theme of the song actually doesn’t match the beat IMO.

This could have been an OK Rihanna song at best but as an Eminem song, its wack sauce. Compared to Love The Way You Lie its also completely wack.

I don’t need to hear anybody lecture me on how singles work, I know how singles work and this is a wack song, whether it is a single or not and if it does numbers it will simply be because its an Eminem and Rihanna song not because of the quality of the song.

Berzerk has done decent numbers and that song is far from great, calling it good is charity. So it is hard to judge what great numbers are for Eminem.

I am eager to see how this album does sales wise because the singles have been awful for the most part.

  36. GreenBergs says:

yo im just gonna come out and say it, FUCK eminem, he has really lost a fan this time, nothing groundbreaking like “stan” and all lukewarm material has been released with rapgod being forgotten quicker than los’ control diss..

  37. FLY FLVCKO says:

Survival, Berzerk, Rap God, Monster… these tracks are all over the place. So different from each other. Maybe it will make more sense when put altogether in the album. Doubt it though.

  38. Juniorhassole says:

All of you guys hating on this are wack af, you don’t understand em’s rhyming is incredible. Bazerk was cool, rap god was amazing! And monster is a real good radio song to get the whole world to buy mmlp2, each song has been so different from each other, y’all are so stuck in 2001, mmlp2 will be incredible!!!

  39. Diablo says:

Eminem fans will probably say this is a classic, Eminem is back, but this song is garbage!

  40. blahblah says:

Not one song ive heard sounds anything like or reminds me at all of the era or sounds anything like a revisitation of mmlp….why even call it that man??? This is cool i guess but when you say your selling a certain sound i expect that sound

  41. word says:

Albums real name is Recovery 2? He just wanted the sales and is playin us all. Silly Marshall.

  42. Micke says:

The Album is dope as fuck! I will Definitely buy a few copies!!!

  43. Lucas Hardman says:

You’re all saying shit right now about this song, but when the Eminem/Kendrick song release, you will be calling him the Rap God again

    1. Chronic says:

im honestly terrified its gonna be some “forbidden fruit” shit and Kendrick is only on the hook…or some “poetic justice” shit were they just talk about love and females…I just want straight hip-hop backpack rap on that song

    2. Dashing28 says:

Isn’t it bad that every time there’s a release though we have to say…..ignore this one though the NEXT joint is gonna be crazy, then…ignore all of the singles the ALBUM is gonna be crazy…smh.

  44. D-Rod says:

For those who obviously have not read any of Em’s interviews of late… This is not a sequel or continuation of MMLP!!! Get it out your head because the creator of the album has said it isn’t. Sometimes I wonder if people are capable of digesting what they hear when it opposes what they want to think.

    (1) Almost all rap / hip hop albums today have a radio friendly joint or two. It’s the nature of the beast.
    (2) If you have to make a radio friendly joint, make it a bad ass one and get a #1 out of it.
    (3) Regardless of your critique he is rapping. Once it is #1 we will have a song with rap on it…it’s still some sort of progress folks.
    (4) Em, regardless of what you want from him is a mainstream rapper and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. We act like that’s a bad thing…about 99% of ya’ll would take this record and put is on your album if you could…so stop.

Too much hate on these blogs. Just accept it for what it is. We get Rap God, then we get this…it’s all about balance.

    1. Starlion says:

how many EM tattoo do u have? smh
      #stans

      1. D-Rod says:

None. I’m a GSI of Urban Art at a reputable University. I can express the art of hip hop in ways you probably have never imagined. Am I a born and raised fromt eh inner-city of Detroit guy? Hell yeah! Does that make me a stan of sorts…maybe…that’s up for opinion. (no tattoos, lol)

If we were talking taste in the music released thus far – I actually would sort of agree with you. However, it does bother me when opinions are structured irrationally and have compromised foundations. So many people on this comment section are disliking the music because “…it doesn’t fit the MMLP title or perceived idea of what a MMLP record should sonically be…”

        1. Starlion says:

Look kid I coudn’t agree more about audiences too often receiving and judging music based on perception rather than music itself.

I’m glad you’re still lucid enough to realize you’re a stan writing paragraphs with bullet points and all defending basic music industry politics. Let me explain my point. After losing ground with some of his core audience Em decides (or his team talks him into it) to name his new album after his masterpeace MMLP. At the same time he makes sure say in itw that people shoudn’t take it as a sequel or expect continuity. This is just basic business bs. you aim and expect for the best and try to cover yourself in case shit hits the fan.

The itw statements you’re mentioning make it sound even more pathetic. He’s not event going all out on it. whatever all this bs anyway. A dope album would settle all this. So far it is jus NOT the case. Oh and the “I can express the art of hip hop in ways you probably have never imagined” lol. I mean.. good for you but you sound foolish. Now please chill

      2. Crespo says:

dumbest comment i have heard.Been a fan since 1999.I dont see how a pop song can make people hate an artist.U know what while u all argue here Em is going to sell a mill and he dont give a f about what bloggers say.Statistics show that most bloggers dont buy albums the just talk.So he is not bothered about it.The ones who buy rarely comment and they are jamming to this now.it got over a milli views already

  45. Dashing28 says:

This song is simultaneuosly a radio smash and the reason why Em will never be considered the best MC of all time. Too many singles like this that have no soul and are purely to make money. This could easily be Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, or a Demi Lovato record featuring Eminem.

Yes, it will be all over radio and yes it will sell a lot, but damn is it annoying. Anyone who complained bout Jay z feat Timberlake should listen to this crap. There’s nothing hip hop about it. At ALL…

so that means 3 bad songs out of 4. And 1 that sounded like a really dope freestyle. This isn’t boding well.

  46. That one guy says:

You people love to hate on Marshal Damn! You want his old shit, buy his old albums

    1. 1018 says:

My MAN 🙂 YOU ARE SO RIGHT!

  47. PhilLee8 says:

I read alot of ppl comments and it almost sounds like yall trying to justify this crap, Let me tell yall something, Eminem doesnt need a radio smash for his shit to be played, everyone knows that, cut the shit out and just take this song for what its worth, trash. Smh

  48. Afrodan says:

Whoever said Eminem needed to work with new producers needs to be shot

  49. GreenBergs says:

dude need to straight start the whole thing over and push it back a few months..till we forget this ever happened…

  50. Jaymalls says:

smfh… wtf is this flo rida sounding bullshit???

    1. Danial Parsa says:

that’s not fair ….it’s a good radio pop song !

  51. Tretch says:

The Monster and Berzerk are the two shortest songs on his album. Y’all need to chill out and realize that he wouldn’t name it after the MMLP for nothing. He will deliver. There’s no doubt about that.

  52. GreenBergs says:

this entire campaign makes me want to vomit

    1. Nah__Roots says:

Nah. You’re just more older and cynical. And can’t get over the fact that Em is a 40-something grown ass man, not a 20 something disrespected rapper with a bad attitude.

    2. Nah__Roots says:

Nah. You’re just more older and cynical. And can’t get over the fact that Em is a 40-something grown ass man, not a 20 something disrespected rapper with a bad attitude.

  53. Loch121 says:

This is a good song period. I wasn’t feeling Bezerk, but this is better to me. Rock influenced joint where he’s spittin fire. it’ll hit on radio and he’s talking about something. I can rock with it.

  54. lovelife2014 says:

To be honest i like this song and to be honest every single got me wanted to see what the album about because i cant tell what the album going to actual sound like. People bitching bout the beat the beat go with the fucking song and the lyrics wasnt people bitching on rap god that the song dont have any substance but this song does. lots of people got to realize eminem is fucking 40 years old his music is not going to be the same as the early ones. Any ways i going to be buying the album.

  55. MrHeat says:

Em never got the love from the Hip Hop community her deserves so you blaim him now for showin you all his asshole? He’s goin for his retirement and you assholes ain’t gonna pay for it for him and his kids.

    1. j3rry says:

Wtf are you saying? Em had all the love, but he destroyed his own career. Now the hip hop community doesn’t want anything to do with him.

  56. LesterDaMolester says:

face it some fans are just stuck in the past i didnt see much people bitchin when jay dropped empire state of mind and forever young and they were mainstream as fuck

    1. RH says:

Those were actually good songs…and radio smashes. jay knows how to put together a song. Em seems like he has no idea…

  57. Starlion says:

I’m flabbergasted by Em stans. Pure denial. Em fell the fuck off. Face it.
Luckily I can still bump his old material.

  58. HIIIPOWER says:

I don’t care about whether a track is is mainstream, pop, underground, super hiphop or whatever…these words don’t mean anything to me, but what I think is that the beat and hook are way too happy for the content…em is rappinf about dark stuff and the beat is not resembling that kind of energy…that’s why I’m not really able to connect with the song…

  59. Madflavour says:

People will complain but it will get played, you will hear it a million times & as far as a song my girl can bump it’s lyrical as hell. No complaints

  60. The Association of Chronos says:

“Calling it The Marshall Mathers LP 2, obviously I knew that there might be certain expectations,” he says. “I wouldn’t want to call it that just for the sake of calling it that. I had to make sure that I had the right songs – and just when you think you got it, you listen and you’re like, ‘Fuck, man! I feel like it needs this or that,’ to paint the whole picture.” -Eminem…. To me, the key sentence in this Rolling Stone article is “to paint the WHOLE picture”. The singles may make more sense to those who are not fans of this track or the other singles once the whole project is available to us. Can’t wait

  61. cyclone777 says:

It’s a hit because they’ll play it a 1000 times a day but this is terrible.

  62. Top5iveAlive says:

So dope man. Love this record.

  63. Top5iveAlive says:

Please do some research on Eminems journey. Then you will understand The Monster.

    1. Chronic says:

this kid acting like people don’t like the song cause they don’t understand “the monster” people don’t like it cause its some sell out crap. if you were even alive when the mmlp cam eout maybe youd understand

      1. Top5iveAlive says:

        Sell out? Please grow up.

      2. lovelife2014 says:

how is it a sellout crap when dude is killing it lyrical isnt that whats hip hop or rap about or because its isnt hard is the reason it sold out crap

        1. Chronic says:

its sell out crap because its music made for 15 year old white girls to listen too

  64. Respect says:

    Can’t defend this one

  65. Chronic says:

im just gonna go ahead and say it Kendrick>Eminem/Nas as the greatest living rapper

    1. Chronic says:

and just to make it clear im talking about current skill levels

  66. WTF says:

This dude said “let’s take it back to straight hip hop and start it from scratch…”

Then released a bunch of pop songs. I was a Em fan since 99, but today may be my last day as a fan. Nas is the realest in the game. Never sold out. Never went pop. Believe that.

    1. Chronic says:

      realest comment on this post

    2. sway-z says:

Never sold out? I love Nas to death, he’s in my top 5, but this nigga played himself plenty of times. Or maybe I’m the only one who saw him dancing around with Ginuwine?

    3. Nah__Roots says:

      Cool – later!

  67. CRAP says:

The way Vibe magazine’s interview with Bebe rekha (original singer of the hook) made it sound, it was gonna be some dark shit. This is some taylor swift/BOB sounding crap.

  68. CRAP says:

Stans will defend this song to no end. There’s no use trying to argue with them. Looks like I’ve out-grown Em’s music because all his new shit sound like they’re for high school kids and people that sit at home playing COD all day.

    1. Chronic says:

the people defending this shit aren’t stans…theyre kids that grew up in the 00’s and heard recovery and called Eminem the best…im a “stan” and im honestly mad that he made this shit

      1. lovelife2014 says:

I am not a stan just like you i listen to em from infinite to recovery and to me this song is dope. To me this shows no matter if its hip hop or pop em can make a good song.

        1. GreenBergs says:

what song are you listening to, give me one quotable from this fucking trash…go ahead, this shit has no replay value whatsoever only thing giving it that is rihannas hook..

  69. j3rry says:

wow. Just when I thought eminem couldn’t get any worse. Definitely not buying this shit

  70. Hussle says:

typical radio joint!! After 4 leaked joints,I still dont see why they named the album MMLP2 tho

  71. sway-z says:

Eminem is the artist and creator of MMLP and this “sequel” so he’s free to do what he wants. But some of you niggas need to stop fronting and making excuses. Just because he’s in a different space doesn’t excuse this album from heavy expectations.

It’s named after what most of his fans consider to be his best effort, so how is it the people’s fault for expecting something in that same vein? Because of an interview a lot of fans maybe never saw? 2001 don’t sound anything like The Chronic either, but it’s a classic in it’s own right and that makes it a deserving sequel. This shit ain’t adding up yet, it’s as simple as that….

    1. lovelife2014 says:

dude shut the fuck up man listen to the album first before you make the judgement lol

      1. sway-z says:

Nigga you can shut the fuck up, you can front for this dude if you want, we BOTH know this shit ain’t hitting

  72. God Mathers says:

Kendrick is the nigga that performed with Miley Cyrus at the VMA’s? I see… you ppl really know what rap is about. If definitely needs a beat right? You can’t acapella rap.

  73. brza says:

decent radio friendly single. y’all are being a bit critical on this one however I do find it confusing that he titled his new album MMLP 2 but says it’s not a sequel?

  74. SHADYJV22 says:

Jesus Christ, as much as haters wanna hate, I mean damn even they gotta give it up to this dude, he aint fucking around only rapper n history of hip hop to get better as he got older, jay z cant even hang

  75. Luke says:

I love how the so called hip-hop heads diss this. They hear a pop singer on the hook and its instantly trash. He incorporates both internal rhyme and extended metaphors, while at the same time dropping meaningful line-enders – so don’t say its not lyrical. It’s not pushing boundaries, but its a damn good song.

  76. JADatsyuk says:

Smh, shit’s garbage. Face it, Eminem’s washed up.

  77. Cartune says:

Ughh… As a Eminem fan… this one hurts. -__- Kinda figured it was just because who was on it. Reeeeeeeeeeeeeally wish he would get off these pop singers jocks any moment now! Makes him look like a hypocrite. On MMLP he dissed pop singers, now he’s doing songs with ’em? I smell a sell out! I have no clue why it’s so hard for vets to stick to their roots, Nas is the only one that hasn’t conformed as one that I can think of at the moment.

Still looking forward to the album as a whole though, and I’ll prolly end up buying this single tomorrow sense I plan on buying the album anyway, please don’t disappoint me Em’. I smack people in the face with you stating facts when it comes to talking about the best rapper in the game to my friends, and this is how you repay me!? Now you’re smacking ME in the face! >_>

    1. sway-z says:

Really wish niggas would stop talking about Nas like this. I love the dude’s music, but he’s campaigning in a Alcohol ad right now as we speak AFTER talking shit on MTV about how he’d never do anything like that. He’s one of the biggest hypocrites in rap history….

      1. Yep says:

Time makes hypocrites of us all.

  78. Madflavour says:

Fat corrections officer raps about riches & material bullshit = niggas love it. Slim raps about his actual life decisions & his career & hip hop and everybody shakes there head. Dammit man, what’s wrong wit y’all??

    1. baby of stan says:

This is not his life its main stream radio bullshit.

      Sincerely,
      Baby of Stan

  79. djskf says:

why you fuckin lames always gotta classify shit. just listen to the fuckin song

  80. Baby of Stan says:

What the fuck is this Em? My father would be disappointed.

  81. trash says:

Everytime we get in to a discussion about eminem using pop hooks, someone brings up Dido on stan. Let me break it down for you idiots once again….

Dido was NOT a well known pop artist when stan came out, which is why it worked so well. It was a very deep, dark and melodic chorus by some girl no one knew about, so really, it wasn’t by a pop artist. (pop = popular/heavy radio play).

Now Em is trying to turn skylar grey and rihanna in to the next Dido’s. It ain’t working. If he puts out 1 last album called “The End” with some honest tracks and hangs the mic up, then maybe I’ll consider leaving him in the top 5.

  82. shayden2kz says:

in my opinion y’all want a em back who was in a darker place, after 13 yrs and everything he has been through and survived, he enjoys life now. Everyone’s mad cuz he is happy so his music comin from a diff place. Since he has so much emotion in his music ofcourse it changes his music

    1. GreenBergs says:

he sure don’t sound fucking happy bro…

      1. shayden2kz says:

Rihanna sent him the hook and beat and this is where he took. just like dido and stan but em took that to a darker place. He has acceppted the good with the bad in fame. yall for get he is a prodicer so ofvourse he likes to experiment with diff types of genres

  83. shhhhh says:

the guy i remember who made MMLP would hate this shit.

  84. shayden2kz says:

this song reminds me of the beat from things will never change by 2 pac

  85. nirusxhonda says:

its more of a crossover hit expect it to make top 10 its a okay song..Eminem just venting like he usually do and that’s fair.

  86. Shadyy313 says:

Amazing Slim,The Incredible SHADY,Great new single “The Monster” !

  87. H'town's JP says:

Pipe down, sissies. Either buy the album, or don’t, it’s that simple. Take it for what it is, his mandatory radio single. Rap God qualmed any concerns I had, he’s still got it.

  88. anonymous says:

I enjoyed Love The Way You Lie much more, I can still bump that. Unfortunately don’t see much replay value in this.

  89. sigh says:

Sadly this song has the most substance out of them all and it feels really cookie cutter. Is this the fault of Rick Rubin? Seriously… this is making EncoreRecovery look amazing.

  90. Base says:

    This shit sucks!

  91. Shade 45 says:

You people are dumb. Cant you see what Em is doing:

Berzerk = for the old school hip hop fans
Survival = for the rock lovers
Rap God = for the hardcore lyricists
The Monster = for the ladies

Em has appealed to 4 different audiences; that was the plan
*There are 15 more songs to choose from people to like, get over it*

Most rappers now have 15 tracks total and 10 suck, Em can give u a full album where 80% or more is liked by everyone

  92. titus tucker says:

It’s called MMLP2.. That means it HAS to sound like music did 10 years ago or you Stans lose your shits huh?

  93. Danial Parsa says:

how a monsta can get a long with a trashy wack-ass song like this ?!

  94. sadboyz says:

Everybodys talking about eminem NEEDED a pop single to sell but he really doesn’t. He’s one of the best selling artist of the decade even before he was doing pop. If he wanted to he can release a HIP HOP album but he won’t cause he he wants to widen his fan base which is fine but is kind of a diservice to his longterm supporters. And no this isn’t a good pop song, the whole composition of this song is as generic as they come. A creative pop song would have been fine but this just isn’t that. Rap god had elements of dubstep that didn’t really fit what eminem was rapping about and lessened the track. Survival was a throwaway and lyrically bezerk wasn’t up to par to the “real hip hop” track it was trying to be.

    1. GreenBergs says:

thank you someone finally said the shit…rap god was on some steve aoki in the room with them, sounding shit

  95. ATBR says:

So this is a pop 40 Dance song. Nothing wrong with that at all. But when I listen to it I cant help but think that this song was not intended to please anybody that is more than a casual fan of hip hop, which also is fine. I am a big hip hop fan and consider em an amazing artist but this song is not for me or anybody that likes the type of music I like. I’m saying all that to say, I like no part of this song at all. I feel better explaining that rather than simply posting “This joint Trash”. lol. I dont think its trash, I just think it was never created with rap/hiphop head’s taste in mind. WHICH IS COMPLETELY FINE.

    1. GreenBergs says:

this is supposed to be a sequel to a classic fucking album that mightve actually changed hip hop…it is not completely fine..

      1. shayden2kz says:

he said in his own words its not a fucking sequel its a revisitation you all need to stop being so stuck on what you think a second LP is supposed to be he can Title it whatever the fuck he want y’all need to get off that shit. he is not a pissed off rapper who can’t make it he has made it and he’s not so angry anymore get over it or don’t buy it!

      2. MrHeat says:

You dude, are totally pathetic. You must not have a life yourself and so you spend it on RapRadar shittin on this song. How many replies do you have in here? How much energy wasted on hating. Go get a job boy!

        1. GreenBergs says:

          Its called a cell phone

  96. GreenBergs says:

on the mmlp album he has a song called marshall mathers where he disses n’ synce and britney and pop music in general , then on a sequel album to that he releases a piece of pop bullshit like this ??

    1. SmOKiNkUSHDaiLy562 says:

That was 13 years ago dude get over it, times change..

  97. GreenBergs says:

the sad part is the little kids who are fans of eminem because of their older brothers and older cousins and friends, don’t know any better but to accept this trash from em..

  98. SHADY STAN! says:

It doesnt matter what the name of the LP is….If your a true fan a name doesnt matter.I only purchase Ems albums based on his skills as an MC and lyricist. His song writing is beyond exceptional. If your a fan of greatness you stay a fan.Artists are supposed to grow.In the state Hip Hop is in Em is a welcome reminder of what the game is missing…REALNESS!You cats hating are just hating to hate.Go “Cop”Trick Falses album being as your picture of realness comes in the form of the biggest liar to pick the mic up…I will stay with a REAL MC!

  99. SHADY STAN! says:

The word play is ridiculous….Haters just need a dictionary and the art of ryhme schemes….This cat is a RAP GOD!

    1. j3rry says:

Oh just stop with this wordplay nonsense. who the fuck wants to hold a dictionary or be on rap genius to enjoy a song? too much work. ain’t nobody got time for dat.

      1. george says:

lmao what kind of rap or hip hop fan doesn’t appreciate word play? lmao xD

  100. Anon says:

I like it, I’ll admit I know it doesn’t sound like the old Em, but fuck it…. If he would regurgitate the same song over and over again you would be pissed aswell.
There’s 2 types of people who follow an artist, there are supporters and ‘fans’….
Supporters are with the artist through thick and thin.
A ‘fan’ will call the artist shit if they make a track that the ‘fan’ dislikes…. Fuck you, Em don’t need ‘fans’ like you, if you don’t like it don’t buy it.
Me? I’m a supporter, always have been. Yea he has made some bad songs but I haven’t and never will write him off, he has helped me through some of the hardest times in my life, and without his music I definitely wouldn’t be here now.
He is a lyrical genius that makes you think with his songs, loads of double meanings and nucks and crannies in his lyrics that leave my head spinning when you look into them, and if you were to actually listen to the lyrics, which most of you ‘fans’ don’t, you just listen to the beat, he again is letting you into his head and where he is at this moment in time. You have to have songs like this on albums to hopefully gain new Supporters (Not plastic trashbag ‘fans” through the radio and may actually help them out with problems in their life.
And before you say it that ‘a Supporter is dumb as fuck because they buy his albums regardless…’ Fuck you, we do it because we aren’t plastic ‘fans’.

    1. shayden2kz says:

finally somebody hit the nail on the head! I am a loyal supporter no matter what some of his songs I like more than others but his lyrical content and his flows & wordplay keep me listening the rest of what’s out there I can listen to once and that’s it because it is what it is it’s on the surface EM is deeper in his songs you have to really listen to them and break them down and that’s what I love and enjoy also a true supporter no matter what! Thank you for this comment!

  101. happy1 says:

The album has leaked and the album is pretty damn impressive. Lyrically, Eminem is on the top of his game. And for those who are hoping for some amazing kendrick and eminem song – it’s not what you will think. It’s some kind of funny, love, chick song.

  115. ISAYWATIWANT says:

    I give it 2 weeks it’ll be a hit

  116. GreenBergs says:

After hearing the album, my thoughts are confirmed. You niggas need to really go back and listen to Relapse and appreciate it. That’s the closest Eminem has, or ever will, get to sounding like the Eminem of the early 2000s, even with the accents (which people make too much of, he only did it on a handful of songs).

On top of that, the production was dope and cohesive (his most cohesive sounding album outside of The Eminem Show ) and it also didn’t sound as forced as this shit. He was at least comfortable on the tracks and with this flows. Stay Wide Awake, My Mom, Insane, 3 AM, Beautiful, Hello, Same Song and Dance & Underground murders anything on this shit or Recovery. Easily…

    1. Nah__Roots says:

I love Relapse too. But trying to marginalize MMLP2 by contrasting it with that album is stupid at best.

  121. nachit says:

the album is great, imma buy it twice

  122. Colomrish says:

Man EMM came out with a hot one again, gotta love the man. Kind of hard to stay true to hip-hop artist when they come out with bunk stuff after being so hot… Keep it up E. Check out some Hip Beats from my homie
