New York rappers have been saying it for years, long before Tech N9ne, and no I’m not talking about the 5-Percenters term.
I know what you’re talking about, I remember, for example, everybody in Wu-Tang calls each other “god”, like “Yo, whattup god”. They talk to each other like that, but it’s not the same thing. To call oneself a “god of rap” is not the same as calling everybody around you a “god”.
Rapper have been claiming god a lot longer than tech n9ne has. Jay has been “god mc” nas saying “gods son” there are constant references throughout the years
