  3. Matik says:

if you have spent any money on a YMCMB or MMG project, and you dont buy this and show support to a true legend, then ur hip-hop pass should be revoked forever, straight up..

  4. Da Business says:

I know that what I’m about to say will be deem as blasphemy to most hip hop heads, but IMO “It Was Written” is the better lp. Not taking anything away from “Illmatic”, it’s definitely a classic, but IWW should get just as much love as ILL… If not more, that’s just me tho.

    1. Ben says:

I respect your opinion, but it was written had a lot of forgettable beats to me. I gave you power is the best song, easily one of the greatest songs of any genre. Illmatic was flawless in production and lyrics.

    2. J.brew says:

Nas was better on “it was written”, production and theme was better on “illmatic”. Either way, both mothafuckin hip hop classics.

  5. Tec1Nyc says:

I was just bumping illmatic the other day and thought I need a new.CD copy cuz my is scratched. Perfect timing

  6. king says:

Wtf didn’t he already drop something like this ???

    1. Tec1Nyc says:

its not the artist who drops these anniversary collections. Its the record company who re-releases the albums. The artist gets a check in the mail for it too so in the end, its a win-win for everyone including the fans who love illmatic

  7. Dan Karlin says:

I’m all for the reissue and the documentary… I’m just not sure how I feel about them trying to make the cover look like an Odd Future album.

    1. Esquire says:
