Good God Almighty.
Drake has found himself in another lawsuit, but this time for unauthorized sampling. According to documents, Jimmy Smith’s Estate is suing Drake and Cash Money for $300k for allegedly using the late jazz musician’s monologue on “Pound Cake” without permission. Hopefully, the suit is here today and gone tomorrow.
300K? Hold up, while Drizzy reaches in his back pocket.
let these rap guys fool you.
No one wants to take a 300k loss, period.
espcially jews
drake whips his ass with that money
I think you meant wipe unless you think he whips his own ass
that’s probably your sexual fantasy. he probably wipes his ass with it, tho
no its with your mom, aunt, girlfriend and sister.
Drake wipes his ass with dicks
Jimmy Smith dont own his own rights. His publishing company does and thats who was paid.
under these circumstances that seems reasonable
He must have 300K if he has this many accountants on RapRadar, commenting… SMh
BOL LMAO, right! letting this rap niggas fool them
he made 10 mill last year according to Forbes, and they pretty reputable
People dont do their job @ Cash Money. Why not make sure they sample was cleared in the first place?
artist @ YM can do what they want…CM/YM isn’t apart of the creative process, they let them be free…also, how do you know Jimmy Smith owns the rights? Uncle Luke tried to sue French Montana/Bad Boy for “Pop That” but didn’t own his publishing
Well that would be a reckless way to do business and its hard to believe. I’m sure they had listening sessions prior to the release and I’m absolutely sure there were at least 3 motherfuckers that were like “Yo, ain’t that…”. He probably knew they wouldn’t clear it and premeditated that L.
300k for an intro sample… not cleared???
the impact of the song warrants it. that was one of the first songs people skipped too when they saw that Jay feature.
Jimmy Smith’s intro is everything on that song. His estate probably has no case tho…..publishing company was most certainly paid.
your opinion. that Jay verse was everything to everyone else though. respectfully, no one even knows who Jimmy Smith is except for you and a couple other people who are familiar with his music.
I’m sure they had listening sessions prior to the release and
I’m absolutely sure there were at least 3 motherfuckers in the room that were like
“Yo, ain’t that…”. He probably knew it wouldn’t get cleared and
premeditated that L. The song made the impact it needed to make. #Happy300KEaster #Merry300KChristmas
It’s pretty obvious they cleared it through whomever OWNS the master and publishing… shit it’s credited in the liner notes..
am I the only one who thinks its weird for Rap Radar to put up a pic of Drake and Rihanna hugging on a post about drake getting sued?
most blogs are very pro “aubrih” looks like you fools are no different
“Hopefully, the suit is here today and gone tomorrow.” BHA! Well Done!
