Fact of the matter is a lot of people don’t like Budden & see him as cheesy yet his fans want to disregard that, act like he’s a rap GOD & thereby infallible, and over-hype his every overlooked offering.
Just a quick run down out of boredom:
He beefed with Jay Z which rubbed a lot of people the wrong way (Jay Z is kind of popular)
He got duffed by Raekwon for saying Method Man wasn’t that nice (or one of Raekwon’s homies I don’t exactly remember but I DEFINITELY remember this nigga holding a T-bone to his pupil…p.s. Wu Tang is kind of popular)
Beats women & just has an overly-creepy track record of aggression towards them (women are kind of popular)
He can be downright corny in his music/reaches for pop culture references that have ZERO replay value (if you don’t know what the fuck he’s talking about when he says “I’m in the building like a Cory Lidle flight” don’t worry….only a handful of Yankees fans got it even when that was a relevant punchline)
Hasn’t had a relevant mainstream moment since the BET Slaughterhouse cypher & hasn’t had a relevant solo song on the charts since….yo I honestly don’t remember
I say that to say…only niggas who already know all these faults & still like Budden check for his music. The public at large knows who he is and has collectively “meh’d” him into obscurity, so the select few fanboys who are still impressed by his dexterity get ignored whereas something that can provide pure entertainment (Like the Tyga post) where you can bring an unfounded opinion & debate baseless assumptions will naturally gather more comments than the dedicated few who keep lining up to praise a washed rapper with corny morals and zero relevance.
