    1. b r z a says:

here you are again writing bs just to get a reaction trolling ass

    2. Cartune says:

@hot_nigga:disqus, just so you know, I NEVER usually do this but, dude, seriously, shut yo retarded poindexter @$$ up! Every other day you’re on the comment section here just saying a bunch of stupid outlandish $#!+, you listen to Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, Young Thug and purchase Nicki Minaj albums, you have NOOOOOOOOOOOOO credibility whatsoever!!… And oh yeah, how dare you use the name ‘MegaMan’ as your username, you’re not worthy enough to use the name of one the best video game characters created, dismiss yourself fxck boy!!

      1. Kingly_Caracter says:

“He’s” a troll brother…it has no soul, purpose, or reason…It just trolls day in and day out for attention.

        1. do_betta says:

No soul, purpose, or reason!! #damn!!

    3. bcro31 says:

I told you to stop trolling. Now your getting killed every time you comment. It was all fun and games when you started, now it’s just sad.

      1. Starpoint feat Renee Diggs says:

        Co-Sign.

      2. MegaMan says:

I told you I’m not trolling, I hate boring hip hop. I’m from a different generation!

    4. M.A.T. says:

      The troll strikes again.

    5. GetReal says:

i usually respect your opinions but now you look like a troll you don’t have to like the song but you saying that this video makes him gay makes me lose every ounce of respect i had for your opinion at first

  4. Cartune says:

Not that this is a BAD SONG or anything, it’s cool for what it is, but the fact remains still, kinda weak for your ‘comeback’ song after a long hiatus and niggas claiming him the new king of Hip-Hop and other the $#!+… Dope vid btw, fits the song perfect.

    1. M.A.T. says:

So out of curiosity, what do you think would be an appropriate comeback song?

      1. Cartune says:

Lol good question, glad someone on Rap Radar can respond with some intelligent $#!+ for a change! But to keep it a hunnad witchu… I don’t even know… I just expected better overall… Like I said, dude was being dubbed the new King of Hip-Hop, he had the hottest verse drop we’ve heard in the last 12 years over “Control,” and he had a fxcking stellar album drop that’s damn near a classic!! After all of that, I expect your next $#!+ to be vicious!! If we were to just go off “i” alone, it just doesn’t give me that here-to-stay vibe… I think this would have worked better for a 2nd or 3rd single maybe… it’s just the fact that this is comeback song that upsets me a bit.

        1. Brian B.Dot™ Miller says:

he had the hottest verse drop we’ve heard in the last 12 years over “Control,”

          ^
I disagree. Like Drake said, I’m sure 90% of the game doesn’t even know how it starts. I think the LYRIC got people talking, not necessarily the verse as a whole

          1. J Boogie says:

Exactly, before “Control” dropped he was known for making quality SONGS. The dope verses and bars were always there but people loved GKMC because the songs themselves were dope and the project was concise.

“Control” dropped and people created this unrealistic expectation for him music wise. As if he was gonna come out and drop battle rap type bars in his album songs all of a sudden.

          2. Cartune says:

REGARDLESS!! That ‘LYRIC’ alone had the internet buzzin for a month STRAIGHT! All them replies, beefs, niggas gettin ‘ their feathers ruffled! There hasn’t been a rapper to cause that much controversy and chaos to the game since Eminem (or maybe even 50…) came to the rap scene! This is what made that verse great, it sparked an interest!… Btw, you would be the nigga to bring up something that Drake said and agree wit the bull$#!+. -____-

          3. bcro31 says:

I agree with This Nigga. Rappers were mad that Kendrick didn’t mention there names in his verse.

          4. Starpoint feat Renee Diggs says:

That’s the part I caught too, but u handle it well.SMH!

          5. MassConglom says:

The name drops and the aggressiveness in his deliver is what had the internet buzzin, not the lyrics.

          6. M.A.T. says:

Lets be honest, most people don’t even listen to lyrics. They just like the song because of the beat or because radio has decided to put it on their 5 song playlist.

I think the verse just showed the power of social media. The internet is what blew that song up. People were even making memes for it.

        2. M.A.T. says:

I see what you mean, but maybe your expectations for him are a bit unrealistic. He released The Recipe first for Good Kid and it didn’t really take off. Then Swimming Pools also took awhile to really become what it ended up being. Actually most of the songs didn’t take off until the whole album was out. So maybe you’re jumping the gun. I saw a lot of people were quick to say negative shit when this song came out too. Y’all gotta remember that this is just ONE SONG. He’s switching it up and doing something different. I wasn’t expecting him to do more of the same. Honestly, Jay-Z comes to mind, “Want my old shit, buy my old albums.”

  5. "hustlemania" says:

    Interscope really pushing this

  6. Mylo says:

Shout out to my Compton affiliates…

  7. M.A.T. says:

Look at Kendrick doing the hokey pokey dance. haha

  8. Lume says:

This song is important. This video is important. All that talk saying that this is a weak come back song is dumb. The Good Kid has won again

  9. J Boogie says:

Dope song and video with a GREAT message.

My beef with Kendrick has never been with his MUSIC. It’s been with his so called “fans” that put him on this pedestal for being “conscience and deep” yet they don’t support any of those ideals themselves.

Drake fans do Drake-ish type shit (simp to hoes, turn up, etc).

Kendrick fans will be the same niggas smoking weed on the couch all day not listening to any of the values this nigga tries to instill in his music yet they swear up and down that’s what makes him the best.

  14. Nah Son says:

This shit is trash lmaooo niggas gonna come outta left field like “Yo go listen to Young Thug if you don’t respect REAL HIP HOP” knock it off, this shit is dead WACK & I consider Section 80 a classic.

Btw wtf was that hokey pokey my son was doing?

    1. Music says:

This shit isn’t wack, you ears are infected with corny rap music.
This isn’t rap, this is MUSIC. Music in every sense of the word.
There are more genres and a whole other universe to explore other than rap you know. Instead of being ignorant, how about you do some exploring?

      1. Nah Son says:

NAH the fucking sample he used is MUSIC. THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE!? Weird whiney voice and middling lyrics over a midtempo song that sounded better when the Isley’s had it.

You’re really ignorant as fuck assuming I only listen to rap & “corny rap” at that. My favorite song to drop yesterday was the AZ remix to Nas’ Season. I spent half the day listening to the X album Los Angeles, Elvis Costello & The Go Go’s…please one your fucking self with the assumptions.

  15. Greenbergs says:

im tired of all this soulful happy sappy shit, lets get to the bangers and headnodders kendrick..

  16. bcl187 says:

Good music video! GET EM KENDRICK KILL THOSE DRAKE SOFT ASS FANS!

  17. Bruhman says:

some of yall stupid af…Kendrick made this song obviously to reach the ppl who are at low points in life not for your critiques…Until you can make a record that can reach the masses sHut the fuck up!!!

    1. Cmon says:

that whole “until you can make a record” argument is idiotic. Can YOU make a record? So what gives your opinion any validity over the rest of the critics/fans of the genre?

      1. Bruhman says:

idiotic? hahaha you obiviously didnt read it correctly…if i could or couldnt isnt the point…the point is exposure. I could be the hottest mf ever and no one in the world would ever know if i dont have the exposure…Maybe you misunderstood what i said.. I said “make a record that can reach the masses”. KEYWORD being “Masses”. He is using his platform in the most unselfish way to inspire the unguided or the damaged and i praise that….Nigga im from chicago straight fucking warzone erday nigga. So i praise that man for making something positive being that he so famous and if you cant respect that you lame as fuck bruh

        1. Cmon says:

First- Son can make something positive, but if the execution is wack that doesn’t mean niggas have to automatically like it regardless.

Second- You said “Until you can make a record that can reach the masses sHut the fuck up” nigga can YOU? Obviously not. So what gives your opinion ANY more validity than the next critic/fan?

I can tell you’re not great at deciphering words in the English language but I hope you got all that.

          1. Bruhman says:

First- ur absolutely right everyone is entitled to their own opinions…ur opinion is obvious…”u think the execution is wack” my opinion is obvious “I like it”…so what’s ur point? I don’t care if u like it or not…I just gave my opinion..

Second- You damn right I cant…I’m not grammy nominated artist Kendrick Lamar, I’m not signed to Top Dawg, I didn’t drop a control verse…but y would I have a need to? I’m not the one on the opposing side hating on the song and it’s not like you can either.so why take a defensive stance if
you hold no validation. Its not like u can stop the song from being played. My validation is this the song in itself…I don’t have to say a word as long as it’s in rotation

          2. joe blow says:

if you don’t care if other people like it or not why did you tell them to shut up? when people say they dislike the song you call it “hating on the song”? Its like you’re saying people can’t express an opinion on something if its not positive unles , and that’s not how things work. People who don’t like the song don’t have to prove to you the song isn’t good. If they don’t like it they don’t like it. Why do people have to make a record that appeals to the masses in order to have an opinion? I doubt you have that so why are you allowed an opinion? And what does not being able to stop the song from being played have to do with anything? Thats like saying why are you saying you like this song, its not like you can make it get played more.

          3. joe blow says:

A song being in rotation doesn’t mean anything other than a record label with a big budget is spending money.

          4. Bruhman says:

U just said the same exact thing bruh said…but I just voiced my opinion that’s all…no I’m not better than the next man but I was really posting that for the select few who tried to “maliciously” criticize the artistic value of the song which inevitably includes his message..u can not like it fine but why hate on his efforts to outreach…

          5. Guest says:

And no everybody that doesn’t like it is a hater…just the ones criticizing him

  18. Bruhman says:

The dopest thing about this is that I know it feeds into a bigger concept for his album…..

    1. Probably not even on the album tracklist. Most likely a bonus track. Most early song releases are. This isn’t an official single release, just a warm-up record. #TDE #TIMELESS

  19. shoom isaacs says:

love the message and it sounds good. some people have a hard time deal with progressive tunes i see.

  20. on another note this nigga kendrick starting to look like ODB with them dreads lol

  21. Edward says:

Still waiting for “the Recipe” video

  24. cannon says:

for some reason when Kendrick lamar dropped this single it made me think he went the dave chapelle route. like after “control” he had everybodys ears tuned in, and the white folks were probably trying to holler at him to make him drop a drake type single but he said “fuck it! im going to Africa to make my decision!” and this was the result lol

  25. Maurice ReBe' Bass says:

People look at me hella weird when I rap this song lol. *Kanye Shrug*

  26. yorapper says:

Why is he rappin with that no balls having voice? Say it with ya chest nigga!

  28. the song is amazing because of the video it makes me feel it more now…kendrick just saying love yourself through all the madness and go for yours there is messages in this song..Drake new Jay-Z and Kendrick new Nas

  29. K.I. says:

I like the record, but the point is, love it or hate it, you can’t ever say K.Dot don’t have his heart in the music and shit.

  30. poetic assasin says:

So what is the reason other rappers can’t make positive/uplifting records, especially as their first single and not the last song on their album?

  31. Sina Mailer Daemon Djavadkhani says:

Brilliant! Love the positive message! Kendrick makes God cool! 🙂

  32. Black Phillip says:

I dunno. Making a song dedicated to loving yourself sounds like masturbation. It’s a good song, but he shoulda picked a different first single

  33. Da Business says:

Dope. K. Dot has 1 on his hands.

  34. ZoomZoomDad-Otis says:

This is corny as fuck. 50 could’ve done a better song with the same beat.

  35. Marko V says:

Yes the video adds another element to the song. I wonder since we live in such a visual age would we have a different opinion if the vid came first like so many YouTube rappers do or do we appreciate the artist so much that we accept the delay?

  36. EastOakland510 says:

does beating your meat count as loving yourself

  37. DeLi says:

Only thing I can say is that this dude is captivating. I enjoyed the video.

  38. I CANT SEE WHAT THE BIG DEAL IS ABOUT THIS SONG

    1. Da Business says:

      Than u’re not listening bruh…

  39. Da Business says:

    Than u’re not listening bruh

  40. GetReal says:

my opinion on kendrick lamar doesn’t matter, he’s gonna go down as a great hands down whether you agree or not

  41. Yamzz says:

Kendrick with this and Cole with Crooked smile is a good look for HipHop…usually hate comparing drake in these Kdots and Cole’s posts but wish he would attempt more music like this instead of just catering to parties. In all fairness clubs chase his sound not vice versa

  42. thirtyyearoldmillionaire says:

Amazing song I can see his vision …. his going for real soul music … literally going for the greatest artist of all time spot … sounds ridiculous now but believe me i aim is to bring music with REAL meaning back … like the 60’s … music that means something.Watch and see.

  43. tookie says:

song just feels good and makes me move.. i dont understand the “he went pop” talk. niggas gotta stfu and just like (or not like) music.. but mainly stfu regardless

  44. NEWYORKISLOOSING says:

men this shit got me emotional shoutout Kendrick

  45. LookingAssNigga says:

This some real shit, real feel good video, I appreciate it, not a single tweaking girl and the video still poppin off, Kendrick steady changing the game.

  46. Nickey38 says:

I lOve the video and the song. Kendrick wins again!

  47. Capuccino says:
