New Video: Guy Sebastian x Lupe Fiasco “Linger”

All Night Long.

After striking platinum with “Battle Scars”, Guy Sebastian reunites with Lupe Fiasco for his grainy video. Sounds like a winning combination. The song appears on Guy’s Madness which is available here on iTunes.

Some songs are better without features.

Coming off the Azelia Banks Troll.

Folks are given license to do this now because D’angelo is busy making inaudible nonsense that everyone praises and no one listens to. So now you get all these dudes making their own personal follow up to Brown Sugar.

Excuse me, what the hell does this soulless crap have to do with D’angelo’s awesome album?

        1. D’angelo’s album isn’t awesome. There I said it. Somebody had to so I am. It’s shit. Just melodies with no actual songs.
        2. This is soulless crap. But these people are modern day versions of Chico DeBarge when he released Iggin Me to capitalise of D’angelo way back when.

Had D not taken such a dire turn musically by steady giving us subpar Prince B-side music, these wack imposters wouldn’t garner the level of attention they currently get and they certainly won’t be having Lupe participation. All in my opinion of course.

          1. I disagree and not because everyone told me to like the D’angelo album, but because I genuinely think it’s the best R&b album I’ve heard in years. The musicality on it is amazing, the harmonies, the groove, the progressions. Even calling it R&B is reductive. It’s got funk, rock, soul. It’s hard and soft. It’s a throwback and completely original at the same time. Yeah, some of the words are unintelligible, but if I judged music on that score a lot of James Brown and Michael Jackson would suck. It’s refreshing. Don’t know what there is to hate on.
          2. I don’t think this release has much to do with D’angelo. It’s pop with some R&b moments, but it doesn’t sound like him or like it’s even trying to sound like him. And considering he’s releasing the video less than a month after the surprise D’angelo album was released I doubt that there was even time for this to be inspired by D’angelo.

Agreed that this song is lame though.
