I think in a world where people legit do not want or sometimes don’t have the money to buy music especially rap. spotify is doing the industry a massive favor bro. They created a platform for music to be heard for free while still paying the artist. If your not happy with how much an artist receives start your own spotify and id like to see how much you give artists lol.
Also considering they have over 1,200 employees and have to pay for databases etc I doubt their profit is as much as you think its a capitalist world either way bro.

Spotify is a subscription based service that gives access to catalogs of music so the splits are much lower. it doesn’t translate into record sales for the people who don’t stream music.
