    Favorite Nas album?

Here’s how I would put it (in no order)
    – Life Is Good
    – It Was Written
    – Stillmatic
    – Illmatic
    – Hip-Hop Is Dead

    1. Tec1 says:

      It was written
      stillmatic
      illmatic
      lost tapes
      nigga tape (untitled)
      Life is good
      I am…
      hip hop is dead
      gods son
      nastradamus
      streets disciple

      1. Dan Karlin says:

I’m factoring out Illmatic on my list, because it’s way too easy of a go-to.

1.) Stillmatic – admittedly, the nostalgia factor gets me on this one. Between being fourteen and hearing “Ether” when it came out, the storytelling in “Rewind”, and “Rule” being the first rap song (at least that I heard) to reference 9/11 after it happened, it’ll be at the top of my list.

2.) Life is Good – Grown man shit. Proof that hip hop can cater to an older audience without sounding corny as fuck, or like it has a “get off my lawn” mentality. “Daughters” and “Stay” are timeless.

3.) It Was Written – I wish the “Street Dreams” remix with R. Kelly had made the album, but that’s my only real criticism. “The Message”, though. Damn.

4.) Hip Hop is Dead – a bold and solid (and admittedly flawed) body of work. “Still Dreaming”, “Can’t Forget About You” are still fantastic to this day.

You didn’t name a favorite album from Nas, you just listed his discography. My favorite album from Nas is It Was Written. The flow was locked in better then in other time in his career in 96 but it wasn’t just the flow it was the bars. Nas was the best when he was Esco. Somebody go tell Nas break out the pink suit and head back to Vegas and make another album about drug dealing because thats when he’s the illest.

      1. Nas said it himself, he wasn’t much of a drug dealer…at least not a good one. We all know he rolled wit em & hung wit em and even fronted his crew money to buy packs with his advance money. That’s why the stories was on point. But I can’t see Nas returning to his Esco persona knowing that the public is now in on his drug dealing past, unless it was some kind of concept like Jay did with American Gangster.

        1. marty mcfly says:

He don’t have to go back, Im just saying that period was when I think he was at his best as an MC. We all know Nas aint no real dealer, even back then cause anybody who was really a drug dealer knew it wasn’t really the mafioso movie that Nas was making it out to be but the creativity Nas has while doing it was on point though.

  4. Hussle says:

homie got flow….got bars. Yet no classic albums. Its not too late….hopefully he delivers one day

    1. marty mcfly says:

Real Talk is the closest he’ll ever get to a classic. That album is Fab in his prime. There is no better song then Breathe from Fab. Aside from tracks 5 and 6, every other song on that album is ridiculously DOPE. Real Talk is arguably his classic album considering there is nothing Fab will ever do that will top that project even though his others are close to being just as nice. Close but no cigar.

    2. theTrvpHouseDOTcom says:

Albums mean nothing in 2015. The Labels got they hand in it. You can’t do what you want to do. They gone tell you what to do. You put Soul Tape on that shit better then 90% niggas albums so whats your point?

  5. Leon Sandcastle says:

Is there a playlist of these that is updated regularly? Like on soundcloud or something. I couldn’t find anything.

    1. theTrvpHouseDOTcom says:

Yeah 2DopeBoyz likes to be difficult and not share artist Soundclouds, but yeah its on Fab’s soundcloud. Myfabolouslife i think it is.

    2. You do realize Fabolous just dropped a album this past December 2014 right??? Which was 5 months ago.

  7. el jim chapo guzman says:

    Killed it.

  8. Jay smoove says:

Fab need to stop playing and spit over a Biggie beat. Would love to hear him over “Machine Gun Funk”

  9. Dan Karlin says:

I’d like to hear him do a posse cut over “Stranded on Death Row” or “Murdergram”.
