Apple held their annual Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco earlier today and introduced their new Apple Music streaming service. Drake, who has signed on for the service, was in attendance and discussed the platform. Apple Music launches June 30.

Apple is a tech company that you like. Ok cool we all do but what about Hip Hop culture? Now Apple gets billions of dollars regardless of any involvement with Hip Hop. Aside from the obvious in terms of associating Jay with Tidal when is it cool for people to support something that comes from the culture itself? Why are people so quick to just give up on the culture they grew up on when it comes to business? People run over to Apple or any company thats outside of the culture the moment its about money but then live the “culture” of Hip Hop 24/7. Why would Drake go with a new company like Tidal, owned by a rival he wants to surpass in all aspects when a tried and true company like Apple is giving him a platform and 19 great looking stacks?
You realize how many people own iPhones? You realize that this music app is made by the company who makes those iPhones? That this app is going to be integrated with everything single iPhone on the market? How could you deny this was the most obvious choice to make?
BTW, Jay didn’t build anything from the ground up. He bought an existing platform and built more upon it. And guess what? It’s worth more than what he bought it for and still going up. He is winning also.

He told the people that Tidal will help the independent/struggling musician, yet went on stage with wealthy musicians who are well established pushing the service.
Once again, I keep repeating that no one knows Jay’s true intentions with Tidal. You are talking as if everyone is siding with Apple over a service that has failed to be released yet.
FYI, Apple Music could fail horribly due to Spotify already showing dominance in the market.
And if Tidal does fail horribly, Jay will sell it, make his money back and then some.
Or maybe Jay’s good old friends at Samsung need a streaming service to compete with Apple Music, and instead of working it from the ground up, buy Tidal and work with Jay closely to get it moving. Win Win for both of them. Just like the way they released Magna Carta Holy Grail and made bank.

Actually he does. He gained the controlling interest in the company when he bought the majority of shares in the parent company, Aspiro. This was approved in May. They then replaced the old Tidal CEO with the former head of the parent company. Old cached links give information about the FORMER heads of the company. (Since I can’t post the link, GOOGLE NYTimes Jayz buys the music streaming firm, Aspiro). He then gives artists an opportunity to buy shares into the company to get more money on the back end for their catalogue. So you are right AND wrong. He has majority ownership but he is also sharing the wealth with shareholders like any other public traded enterprise. Just clearing up your “Facts”
