  2. SweetToadJones says:

Melle Mel had the audacity to diss Kendrick,J.Cole and Jayz for not giving back to the old heads like him.LMAO Macklemore only got you on the song because he want people to respect him as an MC which we won’t

    1. Dashing28 says:

Melle Mel was stupid for that.

On j. Cole’s first album he was just trying not to fuck up his deal. And his last 2 albums had no rap verses from anyone other than him.

Kendrick though had MC Eiht, Dr Dre and Snoop on his project. Along with George Clinton, who’s funk fathered the sound that would shape West Coast rap. They were who he grew up listening to.

Jay Z did records with Rakim, Slick Rick, Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Q-Tip..Not to mention shouting out Beastie Boys, Kool G Rap, and a host of others on tons of verses.

    @Melle Mel:

I ain’t never heard of your name, boy. Nigga, there’s a fine line between legend and old school. You’re OLD School. Nobody owes you nothing. You’re not Birdman or James Brown, get outta here, you’re nothing special. Just because you rapped in the 60’s or 70’s with your old ass, doesn’t make you a legend and you’re not entitled to shit. Stop adding names like Jay-Z, Kendrick, J. Cole and Rick Ross to fuel your fire just because they ain’t work with you doesn’t mean they disrespect the Old School Rap. You’re not Birdman who can rap at 45 and made amazing albums far better than your ass’ lifework. Leave it be your nothing special that’s why nobody is reaching out to.

I don’t have a problem with the record. It’s creative and pays homege to the culture. It’s a dope record. Do we drive mopeds and shit, naw but should we, probably and maybe we go bankrupt from driving Bugattis and lambos with money that we got on credit lol . But the issue that bothers me is feeling like the legends are being used for acceptance. Like if I chill with the black dudes then black people will love me and see me as unified. Nothing wrong with unification but honestly for me to not feel slightly uncomfortable, Mack gon have to grab a DJ Premier beat or get on Power 106 and kick some mean aggressive bars and then he can get his pass

I don’t see him as that type of rap artist. He’s not like Kendrick or Cole or any other spitter out there. He is pure Pop-Rap. At least to me but I’ve been wrong before.

  5. Yak says:

Has Macklemore ever been a feature on a rap song? I feel no one wants to reach out to him as a rapper. Weak bars

    1. diggz says:

he don’t need your features. 10 mil views in 2 weeks

      1. Yak says:

The community he claims he is a part of rejects him. He wants a bunch of pop songs and make money selling radio music fine, go be a pop artist. But don’t call yourself a real mc when NO ONE wants this dude in their music. Weak bars

        1. diggz says:

some of yall lame motha fuckas not everyone. caked up.. go hate somewhere else

        2. Dashing28 says:

He was featured on Childish Gambino’s Grammy nominated album “Because the Internet”

          1. Dashing28 says:

Yeah he was but the song ended up getting cut due to label issues. That’s why Macklemore is still listed in the liner notes of the album….

Regardless, your point was no one wants to reach out to him as a rapper. And that’s not true.

I don’t fuck with Macklemore, but dude knows how to make hits. And you gotta be on crack to think there aren’t a ton of rappers that would LOVE to do a record with him right now.

Peep his video for White Walls.

He got Trinidad James, Wiz Khalifa, Big Boi, A$AP Rocky and DJ Drama in that video. Not to mention Schoolboy Q, who’s also featured on the song.

          2. Yak says:

But he wasn’t on the album. Label issues or not, he was not heard from on the grammy nominated album. He can feature all the people he wants, features cost money he has money boom no problem. But have any of those people reached out to him for their MUSIC. Wouldn’t Mr. Popular seem like a good idea for a lot of people? Yet you can’t provide a rap feature…….. also video appearances don’t count, rappers pop up in videos all over the place, where is the music at?

          3. Dashing28 says:

You said no one reached out to him.

That’s untrue. Childish Gambino reached out to him for his album. They recorded a track….label issues or not he reached out to him for a feature.

That’s 2 Chainz, French Montana, Meek Mill, Childish Gambino, Big Boi all who reached out….

And how many struggle rappers do you think Macklemore’s rejected. He’s a Grammy winning artist with multiple multi-platinum singles. You really don’t think he turns down requests for features on the regular?

          4. Yak says:

            I guess you are right.

  6. Johnny Ryall says:

Rap is predictable trendy disposable misogynistic cliche and can be destructive. Hip-hop is colorless fearless timeless and it builds this is hip-hop I am hip-hop and this speaks to people who know that hip-hop is what birthed the sub genre of rap and that hip-hop is a vehicle to change or in this case a moped to change. People never get the roses while they can still smell em except right here when I heard downtown I heard Sugar Hill and smiled corny gay whatever Wu-Tang still raised me but hip-hop raised them. Coke rap fugazi mafioso rap it is not and that’s why yo mamma loves it.

    1. F*ck Drake says:

I literally stopped reading after the first line. But anyways, SHUT THE FUCK UP. NO ONE GIVES ONE FUCK ABOUT YOUR STUPID ASS OPINION.

      1. Johnny Ryall says:
