New Music: Lil Wayne “Cry Out (Amen)”
January 28, 2016 @ 5:57 PM EST
Song
Church
A rough version of this surfaced a decade ago today. So on the 10 year anniversary of its original release, producer Streetrunner shares a mastered version of Weezy F. Baby’s 2006 sermon. Amen.
This is when he was nice.
One of his best… This man got so much catalog with no home… How was this not on a Carter???
I remember this one. He had One Night Only out around this time too.
When I heard this, I only wished Wayne did more of this. Neva did though. Nice though.
He did…listen to “Blowing Up Fast” & “Anything” from the Suffix mixtape. Fire, classic Wayne.
I still got the suffix mixtapes and the early drought tapes on my hard drive somewhere.
That’s the Wayne era I fuck wid…
Same here. I hate folks who claim to be Wayne fans yet haven’t heard the original Drought 1 & 2 (which were actually 1st drafts of what would become the Carter 1) or never even heard of SQAD UP lol. But he was or is their fav. rapper foh.
Dawg those SQAD UP tapes were ill as fuck. We were literally watching the evolution of Wayne into a beast. Early Kidd Kidd and Gudda Gudda were around too.
The thing that’s weird to me is you can’t be a fan of any artist and not go back and at least listen to their earlier shit.
If you become a fan of somebody today, you owe it to yourself to go through their catalog.
Right. I tried to put so many folks on to Wayne during that era & they was like “The drop it like its hot nigga?” Then “Go DJ” came out lol.The SQAD & Hot Boys reunions on LilWeezyana Fest had me hype as shit cuz like u said, we got to watch the evolution.
Wipe away those tears Weezy.
Definitely laid the Carter 2 flow on it
this song was dope I used to keep it on repeat.
Me too nigga was nice then!
around that time I had a BMW 7 Series 4dr 750Li
Nigga ain’t nobody ask for that lie.
I’ll delete it ok.
You can hear a completely different tone in his voice between this and now. Post-prison Weezy sounds like a different rapper!
Dude he was doing this shit for years before he got locked up
When I saw the draft of 5935 dollars, I accept that my friend’s brother was like really generating cash in his free time with his PC. . His aunt’s neighbor has done this for only 11 months and by now repaid the loan on their home and bought a new Car .
Look here for details
wq…
This shit is fire.
man i miss this wayne
Vintage Lil Wayne
when wayne was a MONSTER!!! a threat. Now he wack
Mixtape Weezy! Damn this was my shit!
This shit ain’t even new. Goddamn. Yall will eat anything that dumb heads feed you. This bout 6 years old. Fuck off
Not one person said this was new. Including big homie.
Wish he would go back to making records like this one. Lyrically, he spit shit that was out of this world throughout the mid 2000’s. One of my favorite rappers of all time even though he’s not at that level anymore.
This drop 2006 Lets me know Weezy was way to ill I wish he goes back to this but that won’t happen
This comes from Lil Weezyana hosted by DJ Raj Smooth. This came out in 2006 around the time Bayou Classic was happening in New Orleans. Should have been November. Yall should go look up the mixtape. Last “Official” Mixtape where Curren$y was still YM.
Wayne used to be nice.Too bad his voice and bars are horrible now, but at least we have these joints to remember what he used to be.
