You think Dear Mama was his most impactful song which could be but I’d say it was probably California Love but it could’ve been Keep Ya Head Up or So Many Tears or I Aint Mad At Cha or just whole albums like Me Against The World, All Eyez On Me (this album hit the rap game like a comet) or Killuminati and imo there is nothing Kanye could ever make thats more impactful then this. Fuck commercial hit cause Pac was putting up platinum records in his early 20s like they was just something to do for fun. It was nothing for him to make a hit but its the way his music touch the heart of the streets. Just like Jesus Walks hit the kids going to Bible study, Pac reached the niggas in the streets and the commercial world ate it up like was talking to them. I don’t think Kanye is shitting on Pac. I think Kanye has some dope beats and has some good wholesome records for college kids and pop fans but Pac was some Ice Cube shit and the influence of that will still be going another generation from now cause of what Pac stood for. Kanye just hit a huge audience but people already familiar with Mos Def, Talib, Slum Village, Monch, Little Brother, Consequence, J Dilla, Q-Tip etc… We’re already in that trajectory before they heard College Dropout.
