BET’s honoring the late Prince during the BET Awards with numerous tribute performances. Backed by The Roots, Erykah Badu kicked things off with “The Ballad of Dorothy Parker” while Bilal channled The Artist with “Beautiful Ones”.

Stevie Wonder hit the stage and was joined by Tori Kelly for their rendition of “Take Me With U”. Jennifer Hudson then followed with a captivating performance of “Purple Rain”

Maxwell wasn’t ocean side, but he brought the views with his latest single “Lake By The Ocean”. Afterward, he paid his respects to Prince with a cover of “Nothing Compares To U”.

Janelle Monae paid homage to her mentor with an electrifying medley of Prince’s classics including “Delirious”, “Kiss”, “Pop Life” and “I Would Die 4 U”

Closing out the ceremony, Sheila E. ended the Prince tribute with a medley including “Housequake”, “Erotic City”, “Let’s Go Crazy”, “Let’s Work”, “U Got The Look”, “A Love Bizarre”, “The Glamorous Life” and “America”.
