Remember what the game did to g-unit and how it impacted interscope, universal and the whole music industry? imagine the consequent pressure on k.dot to not kill drake. Kendrick told you about this in bet’s 2013 freestyle “i masturbated on your favorite MC till the whole industry wanted me assassinated”.
In my opinion, this song is 100% about drake. The messages are supposed to be understood by him and his camp, like the “some of y’all rappers are sharing bars like a two man cell” line and how it all made sense after the meek mill beef…
The lines before the “hoe, Jay-z Hall of fame, sit your punk ass down” are directly adressed to drake. They cant be about kendrick, since he doesn’t write. like jay z he “freestyles” his songs. So probably, they depict how drake would write his lyrics : a lot of bars scratching, paper tearing, with a girl helping /saving him with some weak & nonsensical, but quotable rap line “the music is loud, you’re making them nervous”. to which kendrick answers to the girl and the hoe that is supposedly drake, that dares to say “i turned into jay” : Hoe, Jay-z Hall of fame, which could be understood also as “jay-z Is the Hall of Fame in this rap game, so sit your punk as down”. so that means you’re no bigger than rapping……..
Kendrick can’t “kill” Drake ok. Drake getting billions of plays at this point and raking in 100s of millions like its just something to do. Drake is too far gone to be effected by another rapper just making rhymes about him.
