New York City paid tribute to our culture with Global Hip Hop Day at the birthplace of the legendary DJ Kool Herc, 1520 Sedgwick Ave. It was also renamed Hip-Hop Boulevard during the ceremony. The culture came together to celebrate with names like, Kool Herc, DJ Scratch, DJ Chuck Chillout, DJ Red Alert, Grandmaster Caz, Funk Flex, DJ Kast One, DJ Enuff, DJ Camilo, D-Nice, Kid Capri, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, The Lox, Cardi B, Fat Joe, Remy Ma, French Montana and more. Peep the unveiling of the new street sign above and photos during the the day’s events below.
