Paul Rosenberg Named CEO of Def Jam

There’s a new face at the top post of Def Jam. Music manager, film and TV producer Paul Rosenberg has been appointed to take the CEO seat at Def Jam. Currently president of Shady Records, which he co-founded with business partner Eminem, Rosenberg has founded management company Goliath Artists Inc. and has overseen artists Danny Brown, Action Bronson, Blink-182, DJ AM and more during his career. He will replace current Def Jam CEO, Steve Bartels beginning in 2018. Congrats, Paul!

    He seems like he would do a decent job but my question is why him? He hasn’t done much over the past 10 years that didn’t directly involve Em. Unless I’m just not up on what he has been doing in music the last 10 years. He is the head of Shady records, right?
