Walking On Billboard
Eminem revives himself back on the Billboard charts. This week, Marshall’s latest album, Revival, bows at the number one spot, moving 267,000 units in first week sales. The rapper also becomes the first act to achieve eight consecutive debuts at number one.
In related news, G-Eazy’s The Beautiful & Damned debuted at number three while Jeezy’s Pressure comes in at number six. Congrats to all.
Rap wins.
album of the year
I fuck with em but the album trash
Very telling with how little he sold.
In walk on water he talks about how people are ragging on him anymore and thinking he has lost his edge.
Then the cd proceeds to forget what he said on walk on water and go back to sheeran/rihanna esque cringe fests that are helping to tarnish his early legacy.
Dude has lost the self awareness he used to have, and this CD screams trying to connect with his daughter on social issues and emotions/guilt he is feeling.
3 songs. Framed believe and chloraseptic(I have a sneaking suspicion 2chainz verse was either really bad or better than all of the rest of eminems songs) and that is why he got cut. the rest is the most cringe induced hour I have put myself through in a while.
Never again.
Oh yeah. He is very clueless when it comes to why people rag on him. Aside from his rap style completely changing post relapse/proofs death, he also pushes songs like love the way you lie/monster over a song like wicked ways or so bad.
Stick a fork in this guy. His wordplay might still be amazing but now it feels like a chore to listen to. We will have to wait until em/dre are 65+ before they start releasing all of the music from 2001-2009 that never made it to albums.
That is the stuff and the flows and the skillful type wordplay the people ripping on him want back. Not him collaborating with the flavor of the week pop artist to make some song talking about how bad he. used to have it.
That introspective stuff is fine but we can the marketing behind it in 2017 em.
If this album was all about pills and the epidemics we are facing with fentanol and how dumb the addicts of today are compared to those of the 90s, because of the revival drug tones. It probably would have been classic.
But that song as him from a black perspective might be what kills his career. Ain’t no coming back from that. That shit was super cringe. I don’t think I have finished it yet. I can’t believe he put those words down on wax and then released it.
That should have stayed in the vault
