Missy is still working it. Today, it was announced Missy Misdemeanor Elliott will be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame. Missy Elliott has become the first female Hip Hop artist to be inducted.
After being nominated in November, the Virginia native will honored at the 50th Annual Induction and Awards Dinner in New York on June 13 with her fellow inductees Dallas Austin, Yusuf Islam, John Prine, Tom T. Hall, and Jack Tempchin.
The rapper, singer and songwriter’s career has spanned for well over two decades. “The Rain” hit maker who spawned hits including “Work It” and “Get Your Freak On“, also has writing credentials tacked to other artists including Aaliyah, Beyonce, Whitey Houston, Janet Jackson, Monica, and more.
