New artist, new wins.

Lizzo and Lil Nas X lead the nominees for the upcoming 62nd annual Grammy Awards. Earlier today (November 20), the Grammys announced the list of nominations for 2020.

Lizzo leads the pack with eight nods. Among the eight, includes Album of the Year (Cuz I Love You (Deluxe)), Record of the Year (“Truth Hurts”), Song of the Year (“Truth Hurts”), and Best New Artist. 

Meanwhile, Lil Nas X isn’t too far behind with six nominations that also include Album of the Year (7), Record of the Year (“Old Town Road”), Best New Artist, as well as Best Rap/Sung Collaboration (“Panini”), Best Pop Duo/Group Performance (“Old Town Road”), and Best Music Video/Film (“Old Town Road”).

Dreamville, Meek Mill, 21 Savage, Tyler, The Creator and YBN Cordae will respectively duke it out for Best Rap Album. The late Nipsey Hussle returns to the ballot this year with three nods including Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance with “Racks in the Middle” for each, and for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with DJ Khaled and John Legend “Higher”.

Hosted by Alicia Keys, the 62nd annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California on Sunday, January 26, 2020 and will air live on CBS at 8:00 pm EST.
