6ix9ine was finally given his sentence in court today (December 18).

A New York judge handed the rapper a 24 month sentenced in prison following his high-profile federal case of racketeering charges. Initially facing 47 years, Tekashi’s sentence was reduced in exchange for his cooperation with prosecutors. With 13 months already served, the rapper will actually serve 11 months with an expected release date in late 2020, maybe earlier if on good behavior.

In addition to his sentence, 6ix9ine has been ordered to pay $35,000 in fines. Following his release, he will be on supervised release for five years and will have to complete 300 hours community service.

In September, Tekashi 6ix9ine gave his testimony for the prosecution, where he testified against members of his former gang, Trey Nine Bloods. Tekashi detailed the origins of his affiliation with the Nine Trey Bloods and how it helped spawned his music career. He revealed that in exchange for using their gang image to help boost his fan base, he would simply help fund their gang activity with profits from his music releases. He stated that he was introduced to the Nine Trey Bloods at his “GUMMO” video shoot in 2017, including member and former manager, Kifano “Shotti” Jordan.

While on the stand, Tekashi also identified his defendants Aljermiah “Nuke” Mack and Anthony “Harv” Ellison, who were also in the court room. Ellison was involved in the kidnapping and robbery of 6ix9ine. Since then, Ellison’s attorney says the incident was staged as a publicity stunt. Tekashi also mentioned former collaborator-now-rival, Trippie Redd, as a former member of the Five Nine Brims, a rival of the Trey Nine Bloods.

Back in November of 2018, Tekashi 6ix9ine was arrested and faced a life sentence for racketeering that included acts of assaults, shootings, murder and drug trafficking. In February of 2019, he plead guilty and struck a plea deal where he agreed to provide a key testimony for the prosecution in exchange to have his 47-year sentence reduced.
