It’s the clash of the R&B divas.
After much anticipation, Brandy and Monica finally reunited for their long-awaited Verzuz battle.
On Monday night (August 31), Brandy and Monica celebrated their music and ran down their extensive catalog. They kicked off the show with a tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman and a video appearance by vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris. The two R&B legends shared stories behind their songs and their history, while playing and singing along to their most memorable hits including their classic collaboration, “The Boy Is Mine” for the finale.
Their Verzuz episode follows Brandy’s recent release of her seventh album, B7. Meanwhile for her upcoming album, Monica released her Lil Baby-assisted single, “Trenches” earlier in the day which she also played during the friendly showdown.
