Trey Songz Arrested For Police Brawl

Trey Songz was arrested following a physical altercation with a police officer in Kansas City, Missouri over the weekend. He has since been released from custody.
TMZ reports the incident happened on Sunday (Jan. 24) at Arrowhead Stadium during the Kansas City Chiefs’ 38-24 AFC Championship win over the Buffalo Bills. Witnesses say a police officer approached Trey after the star responded to a group of hecklers in the stands.
In a video obtained, the footage shows Trey landing a punch at the officer’s head and putting him in a headlock, before he was pinned and cuffed. Fans can be heard shouted in Trey’s defense and one even yelled out for the arrest of the officer.
The Kansas City Police says the tension between the two began prior to the incident. They tell The Associated Press fans reported Trey and his party to Arrowhead Stadium security for not wearing their masks. After failing to comply to the COVID-19 protocol, the police were called to intervene and the physical altercation ensued as Trey was being escorted out.
The 36-year-old was booked for trespassing, resisting arrest—both misdemeanors—and for assaulting a police officer, a low-grade felony. Trey was initially put on a 24-hour hold at the Jackson County Detention Center, but was released early. Yup!
