After nearly 23 years, the Record Industry Association Of America has finally welcomed Lauryn Hill to the diamond club.

On Tuesday (Feb. 16), the RIAA officially certified Lauryn Hill’s solo debut album, The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill its diamond certification for moving over 10 million copies in the U.S. This marks the first female rap artist to ever to achieve the milestone.

Lauryn Hill released The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill on August 25, 1998 by Ruffhouse Records and Columbia Records. The album debuted at No. 1 on Billboard with 422,624 copies sold in its first week. Later that year, the album won Lauryn five Grammy wins, the first woman in history to win five or more in a single night. In 2015, the album was inducted into the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry.

Infused with neo soul, R&B, hip hop and reggae, the critically-acclaimed album featured the hit singles “Doo Wop (That Thing)“, “Ex-Factor“, “Everything Is Everything“, “To Zion“, as well as the hidden track “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You“, her remake of Frankie Valli’s 1976 hit. Despite its success, the album is unfortunately Lauryn Hill’s only solo album to date.

As a member of The Fugees, L-Boogie also recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the group’s 1996 sophomore LP, The Score on February 13.
