15 years of Food & Liquor.

Lupe Fiasco put on not one, but two amazing shows at the Brooklyn Steel on Sunday (Feb. 13) in commemoration of his debut album, Food & Liquor.

The show opened with performances by Bronx rapper Mickey Factz, and Miami native Billy Blue. The two warmed the crowd up as they prepared for the headliner to grace the stage.

Lupe performed his hits from Food & Liquor, beginning to end. Starting with “Real”, the show was definitely personal and interactive. He explained each song, whether it was the story of how they came to be, or what they meant to him. While performing “The Instrumental’, Fiasco couldn’t seem to get the words right. Being the true showman that he is, Fiasco started from the top until he did. This led Lupe to speak about an instance where Q-Tip had asked him to perform and honor A Tribe Called Quest at the Hip Hop Honors where he completely forgot the words.

In turn he stated “See I can’t even remember the words to my own song.” He went on to perform songs like “Superstar”, “I Gotcha”, “Kick Push II”, “Daydreaming”, “He Say She Say”, and more. The dopest part about this performance was how interactive Fiasco was with his fans. He freestyled with them, shared stories, and responded when they spoke. Even per one’s request to “Bring Out Jay’‘, Fiasco put on his best impersonation as he performed “Pressure”.

The show was everything you hope to receive at a concert. Lupe Fiasco is a classic act, and proved every bit of that on the stage this weekend. We look forward to seeing what is next for the showman.

Lupe The Great. In addition, he is working on his NFT-inspired program titled “LFT” and his forthcoming album, Drill Music In Zion.
