All things are better with a remix. Such is the case for Ciara and Summer on their “Better Thangs” remix featuring GloRilla.
On the revamped version, Ciara and Summer continue living their care-free life, while GloRilla joins the occasion with her new verse. “Soakin’ up the game that OGs splash / They took me as a joke, now look who laugh?”, raps the cocky Memphis native.
Ciara and Summer Walker released their “Better Thangs” collaboration in September. Meanwhile, GloRilla’s still hot off the release of her “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B and her and HitKidd’s “F.N.F. (Remix)” featuring Latto and JT.
I love all 3 artists but this remix just sounds bad. The original is a good, feel-good song that didn’t chart even with Summer Walker on it. Adding Glorilla because she’s currently very popular wasn’t the way to go. It doesn’t say much for Ciara as an artist. She’s been making music far too long to keep making these mistakes.
Man this confirms what I have thought about Ciara for a long time. She really doesn’t care about being a quality artist or making quality music. She is just about celebrity and remaining relevant and it shows. Stop trying to be a sex symbol and just be a great artist. The good music will come, the sales will return and you will regain the respect and support of your fans and peers. It’s so disappointing because she is actually talented.
