Three months after his RICO trial verdict, Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison.

On Friday (Oct. 3), Diddy was ordered 50 months by a New York City federal judge prostitution-related charges as well as a $500,000 fine, which is the maximum fine the judge could impose. The Judge Arun Subramanian’s ruling stated that although the max of 11 years was excessing, being released with only 14 months served was not enough.

“A history of good works cannot wash away the record in this case, which showed that you abused the power and control you had over the women you professed to love dearly,” said judge Subramanian. “You abused them physically, emotionally and psychologically and you used that abuse to get your way.”

Diddy, who broke down in tears following the verdict, issued an apology to his family and victims. “My actions were disgusting, shameful and sick. I was sick,” said the 55-year-old hip hop mogul. “Sick from the drugs, I was out of control. I needed help but I didn’t get the help. Because of that I can make no excuse.”

Back in July, a 12-member jury convicted Diddy guilty of two of his five charges. He was found guilty on his lesser charges of MANN act of transporting Cassie Ventura and MANN act of transporting Jane, but not guilty on the more serious charges of RICO and sex trafficking.
