Big Pun’s family and supporters held a rally Saturday in efforts to rename 163rd St and Rogers Place in The Bronx, Big Pun Place. Showyaskills was on the block and filmed commentary from Pun’s sister and Triple Seis. For those wanting to see a change, sign the petition here .
I Live Right Up The Block From There Forest Projects I Deff Will Be Signing That Petition.
We should start a petition to get a burger named after him.
Shouldn’t they name the street “Wife Beater Way” in memory of Big Pun?

This is ridiculous, why do we put these rappers on such a high pedestal ?? Pun was just a rapper , what about the Teachers , firefighters , community/charity workers who are actually doing something to make a change in that borough of course they don’t matter but a rapper who had disregard for his own health & beat up his wife in front of his kids is supposed to get a road named after him . I’m a fan of Pun’s music but thats where it stops, these people need to get real
Where is fat Joe? And is pun really worthy of getting a street named after him? He was a good rapper but what did he really do?
@Your mother’s “Friend”
Co-sign. Niggas are acting like Pun was the messiah or some shit. He and 99% of the rappers have never done anything (longterm) positive for their hoods. He is not one to look up to. Dude beat his wife for years. So what if his music was dope. He did not contribute a dime to the Bronx. The city of New York doesn’t owe him shit.
PUN CONTRIBUTED TO HIP-HOP BUT HE DIDN’T CONTRIBUTE TO SOCIETY!!!! NO HUMANATARIAN EFFORTS OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT!!!! PLUS HE FAR FROM A GREAT ROLE MODEL IN HIS OWN HOME!!!! PUN WAS A DOPE MC BUT TO HAVE A STREET NAMED AFTER HIM??? FUCK OUTTA HERE!!!! MAYBE I CAN VOUCH FOR FAT JOE CUZ ACTUALLY DOES GIVE BACK TO HIS COMMUNITY!!!! AND HE AIN’T GOT A STREET NAMED AFTER ‘EM!!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE DELUSIONAL!!!! SMH!!!!
R.I.P. BIG PUN
DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!
C’mon son !!!!!!!!!! Pun was a great MC but he was no social Hero
smell like a money scheme to me, let that nigga rest!
church!!!! @ your mother’s “friend” and @ mac diesel
@PAT?COSIGN? FUCK THIS 400 SOMETHING SUMO WRESTLER!!
GTFOH Pun Wasnt that nice
ALTHOUGH HE MAY HAVE HAD HIS FAULTS -WHETHER HIS WEIGHT GAIN OR THE DOMESTIC ABUSE, HE DID TRY TO CHANGE HIS COMMUNITY. HE HAD A REC CENTER FOR THE KIDS IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND WAS ALSO NOMINATED FOR A NAACP AWARD FOR PROMOTING EDUCATION. HE INSPIRED A GENERATION OF LATIN ARTISTS-WHILE LIVING IN THE VERY SAME NEIGHBORHOOD HE CAME FROM WHEN HE WENT PLATINUM. HE WAS ALWAYS ABOUT COMMUNITY WHICH MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR ALOT OF ARTISTS THESE DAYS. CHRIS BROWN GETS A PASS FOR BEATING HIS CHIC AND HAS ONLY CONTRIBUTED TO HIS COMMUNITY BY WAYS OF COURT PROBATION. . BIGGIE BEAT THE SNOT OUTTA KIM-YET HES THE GREATEST AND THAT GETS OVERLOOKED. THE LIST IS LONG. AT LEAST HE CAN BE USED AS AN EXAMPLE OF THE CONSEQUENCES IN POOR DECISION MAKING BOTH IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AND IN OBSEITY. AND AS FOR THOSE HARD WORKING TEACHERS, CHARITY WORKERS ETC YOU TALK ABOUT… THEY HAVE THE SAME SKELETONS IN THEIR CLOSETS-THEY’RE JUST NOT IN THE PUBLIC’S EYE.
FOH! wac WIESEL!!! u always saying fuck spics but now u introspective on a Pun post…die a painful death….oh and how’s moms?
All respect to Pun, but is this really worth it?
You know whats fucked up, none of ya’ll say shit when its politicians, actors or atheletes… but one of your own and everybody trippin. He’s a success symbol for kids up and down the concourse. I guess ya’ll want his mural taken down too…
Half the men on the dead presidents you worship hated our kind and did unspeakable shit, but your principles don’t apply there. When was the last time any of ya’ll even stepped in the Bronx?

Co-co-sign. In America today, we act like rappers are high contributors to society when in reality they usually do very little in a best-case senario. Big Pun was good, but if you think about it, he did little for the better of this country, his state, his city, or even his neighborhood. @Talk is Cheap, sure he is a success symbol for little kids in his hood, but as @Black Shady said, “Pistol whip a bitch if she doesnt make me a sandwich”, what a great role model. Can we really have a man who said shit like this have his name on a street sign among the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.? Though he may be a role model in making it out of the streets and making it in rap, do we want to have a generation of kids who “Pistol whip a bitch if she doesnt make me a sandwich”? For me the answer is no. I don’t know if that falls within y’all’s “morals” (@Talk is Cheap)
@sh sh sh shady AFTERMATH
I get it and I don’t condone violence against anybody, especially women.. but you’re not addressing the second half of my comment. This ‘movement’ to get a street named after him brings up the question of what exactly is the criteria for having a street named after you. Its real easy to say Martin Luther King, but there are streets named after some questionable people who did things less becoming of a one way sign. Where’s the revolt to get those streets renamed?
AND my point is that WE have the CHOICE to remember the best qualities of Pun or the worst.
Hi HIpleasant browsing your weblog and basically thought I would say thanks a lot and wished I could write like that.
