Rick Ross continues his recruitment process and is rumored to be signing Ohio rapper Stalley, to his Maybach Music Empire. Last month, Rozay added R&B singer Teedra Moses to the roster not too long after signing Pill, Meek Mill, and Wale. Who got next?

this is one smoke and mirrors deal officer ricky has done with warner bros. “signing” all these new dudes to a label thats first release under def jam did 5,000 copies. triple c’s.
now all of a sudden he can go out and get 7-8 new artists added to his label and warner bros are funding it all! dont look like triple c’s was part of any new deal. they got droppped.

Ross has brought a decent roster, now he should just fall back and let each artist develop their individual brand. Stop all that Self Made bullshit and develop the artist individually. it’s a good move for Stalley if Ross promises to stay off his tracks. MMG has the potential to be a good record company but it’ll fail with all that compilation bullshit.

seems to me that he was already signed to warner bros. under an indie flagship and was just put on the MMG, due to what’s going on with both labels.
Stalley makes good music, and as much as I dislike the cop, this will be a good look for the MMG roster if they give him his creative control.

When Ross signed his label deal with Warner he probably had a clause in there somewhere that allows him 2 cherry pick Warner’s existing roster for talent to add under his Maybach imprint. Of course the artist has to agree to sign on and that’s probably the case with Pill and Stalley. It happens all the time…It’s what 50 Cent and Akon both did when they acquired The Game and Lady Gaga to their respective labels.

@clos…. warren, kurupt, daz, nate, etc. were all introduced to the game through snoop via dr. dre true, but they all shared a common demographic. 213, DPG, Death Row, etc. made one type of music for one audience. The Roc was the same way. Stalley and Ross do not share the same demographic at all. I doubt if Ross fans want to hear Stalley or vice versa. The Dogg Pound made the same music for the same audience so it was an easy transition. The artists on MMG have individual brands and individual target audiences. Imo Ross should capitalize on that and spread out instead of trying to make all of MMG appealing to his demographic. I’m sayin’.
