NBA commissioner, David Stern made a trip uptown with The New York Times to a local barbershop. Holding court, Stern talked about the leagues dress code policy, age limits, and Ron Ron’s Malice At The Palace.

Sidebar: Didn’t Stern shut this down? Somebody, let me know!
what about kobe getting fine for his yellow and purple dre headphones??
I respect the fact he answred the questions out of his element even though i don’t totally agree with everything he said.i see thins from his view. I would of grilled him much harder about why are kids allowed to come out of high school overseas but not in the u.s.a. And he made a point about no throwback (remember them) but did not say anything about white players wearing cowboy boots and shit.
The answers are debatable but you gotta tip your hat to David Stern for being man enough to sit there in Harlem and answering every question. I know for damn sure Goodell wouldn’t do that shit or any other commissioner, simply cause they don’t have to. However, i know it’s not a popular thing to say in the black community but I agree with the dress code. The NBA for us as fans is entertainment but to that man it’s a business as well, do you know how hard it would be to market a sport overseas or on TV that had players looking like rappers in gaudy chains and oversized jerseys? No one wants to see that shit, i remember Jordan wearing the flyest suits and jackets coming to the arena in the finals. The players bitched cause they try to hard to be in hiphop culture not knowing that ball and hiphop are hand in hand
Hilarious. I remember those SDE ads….
