Last month, The Eminem Show was recognized with the honor as well. For the record, Em becomes the first and only rapper with two diamond sets in his catalogue.

Eminem and Nelly just understood…if you keep rapping about “drugs and guns and shit” only a low percentage of people are going to relate and that percentage has better things to do than buy albums. So what do you do..still appeal to them with that same hunger they have but add in melody, add in rock guitars, add thigns EVERYONE likes so you can sell 10 million. Ever wonder why even at the HEIGHT of HIP HOP..no one really topped 5 million (90’s) besides Pac and Big(who died..and Hammer who was..well Hammer). Because there’s a ceiling on SOLELY gangster “hood” Rap. You have to be diverse. THATS what was Jay’s problem. People forget..Jay-Z was a monotonous, I rap about the same things, use the same kind of beats(ILL BEATS AND RHYMES THOUGH) until he got to Blueprint…THATS 6 ALBUMS IN.
Em realized that by his 2nd. so THATS why with only 1/3 of Jay’s work Em has done twice as much as Jay will probably ever do.
