During Black Star’s tour stop in Miami Tuesday night, Mos interrupted their set at the Fillmore and sent a request to BET to pay tribute to Troy Davis at this weekend’s Hip-Hop Awards.
“The BET Awards are happenin’ in Atlanta, Georgia, apparently this weekend on Saturday, right? I’m making a strong, serious recommendation and suggestion.In the interest of humanity and the rights of human beings all over God’s spaceship, Earth. If you are doing or hosting this event in Atlanta, Georgia, right after this young man, Troy Davis, was brutally murdered, in public for the whole world to see, you should definitely dedicate one part of your show.
If it’s the opening, the beginning, the middle, or the end … Bring his mama out there, show her your support and show her some words of comfort and encouragement.This is not the moment for your silence, BET! I know you’re prob just trollin or some shit, but anyways there was doubt, so they should’ve gone back to trial. Like 7 people came forward and said that the police pressured them to say that Davis did it. If there was any doubt that he did anything, which there was, they should’ve have gone back to trial to set shit straight.
A tribute is a good idea BUT to have BET handle this. Is like dropping off DMX in a heavy drug area of town and expect him to be OK.

Too bad his Mother passed away a few years back when he got pardoned the first time. She was going hard for troy around the world. His Nephew would love to be there though.
How can a guy get executed when a former President, former FBI Director and the current Pope all say he deserves a new trial.
A tribute for this guy is the very least BET could do to provide comfort for this guy’s mother.

The real Mos would tell you to educate yourself — look up Amnesty International, the group sponsoring the whole ‘save Troy Davis’ thing. They are anti-capital punishment and they USED THE MAN to get people to pay attention to them. How come people aren’t upset about that? Plus, yeah, uh, they re-examined his case 3 times, and of the 7 of 32 witnesses who went back on their statements, only 2 came forward to actually say anything. So that makes 30 witnesses who officially saw Troy shoot a cop. And then walk away, turn around, and shoot him again (witness statements.) EDUCATE people.
It’s not everyday that the government blatantly disregards public opinion, logic, and morality to kill what could have been an innocent citizen. And by blatantly, I mean with the entire country watching the clock tick closer to his impending doom.
What happen to innocent until proven guilty. I guess for Mr. Davis that ruling did not apply. Even though there was no evidence and there was jury tampering. when is enough, enough?
