Cudi let his fingers do the talking via his Twitter account this morning. First, he renamed his rock group with Dotdagenius and said he’s releasing their album in two months.
News update! Me and@DotDaGenius are no longer called 2 Be Continuum. The world will call us W Z R D, which is short for WIZARD. And heres the biggest news, the official release date will be January 30, my birthday. Had to push it back to get the proper time to mix and master, want it to sonically be where it needs to be. For your smoke sesh enjoyment! Were gonna release a snippet of the first single soon. You will be pleased. Ladies, your gonna have something to shake those booties to.Also, the WZRD album does not contain any profanity or the usage of the word “nigga”. A universal album for everyone. Haha man some of yall really upset theres no profanity?? You know songs can be written with out them right? Some of yall listen to so much ignorant shit that thats all you know or are accustomed to. My fans are smart, I know yall better then this.
Better than Lil Wayne doing rock…

Did he just say he knows the fans better than they know themselves? If people are annoyed that he’s gonna get all hipster-douchy on this tape and start censoring his language so that kids can listen to it in kindergarten, can an artist really tell them they’re wrong and they don’t really feel that way?

hes right…dont ever listen to what fans have to say about the direction of your music..what the blogs want is always whats not successful…if there a FAN they follow you..and yes cudi fans understand that
^THAT is completely retarded. Fans don’t work for the artist, it’s the other way around. When you blindly love anything that’s got the right name on it, a) you’ve officially gone from “fan” to “stan”, and b) you have nothing that even comes close to resembling taste, because you don’t actually listen to music. FUCK any artist that thinks they’re above that shit.
Kid Cudi is a Lil Wayne wannabe. I really liked Rebirth, because Lil Wayne is the first rapper to step out of the usual rap and hip hop beats.
Who in the world is checkin’ for this dude? Definition of wack….
im goin to by that album
@MegaMan are you kiddin??? Kid Cudi’s songs and sounds doesn’t compare to anyone. The man has his own genre in music. Also, Lil Wayne is the first rapper to step out usual rap and hip hop beats?! FALSE! Did you forget about “Hey Ya” by Andre 3000?
haha children. yall ever heard of Run DMC?
@megaman I’m pretty sure kanye west’s 808s and heartbreak came first and was much more expansive in terms of scope, the lyrics were more meaningful and the mood created by the unique production was very cohesive. Lil wayne created a shitty rap rock album, something that plenty of others have done
Man , this dude mind changes more than gold-diggers having different ballers to fleece every day of the week . I respect he’s not going to curse on this album, maybe had a heart to heart with his family or spiritual intervention
Run DMC and the Beastie Boys were the first rappers to do the rock and roll thing first not lil wayne, plus Lupe Fiasco’s rock band is WAYYY better then wayne’s band. Kid Cudi got it right with everything he said, he’s my favorite artist
“My fans are smart, I know yall better then this”
He meant to use “than” in that sentence.
Ironic.
@end of days
okay then cudi has stans…whats the difference are you gona buy the album? if your not he wasnt tryna attract you anyways..thats his point…i dont critique the music of my favorite artist..i hear mjusic from there point of view..
why even announce there’s no profanity or “nigga” on the album? that was a herb move, to me. and if albums WITH both constitute “ignorant shit”, then i guess that’s what he’s calling his previous two albums.
He needs to do an entire album with Ratatat.
unreal artist
LOL @kingBENNY, shit is so true.
Cudi’s been an elitist hypocrite ever since Ye signed him.
cudi is an ARTIST
Can’t wait.
@ajsea, obviously u are if ur commenting on this
@The same idiot as last time
Its really shocking how far gone you are. Am I going to buy the album? I have absolutely no idea, I haven’t heard a single track off of it. See, most reasonable people listen to the music, get a sense of the project, and then make an informed decision. And then there’s people like you. These people either can’t make up their mind for themselves, so they use the label to tell them what’s good; or they get so lost in the branding of the artist that they become miniature ATM’s for the record companies. And as much as you think you’re supporting Cudi, “yes man” fans have been responsible for the death of much bigger careers than his.
