The Grammys are two months away and J.Cole is nominated for Best New Artist. Despite the stiff competition, Jay-Z says his protegé already won in his eyes. Cole statement.
“I think it’s great for him, because I’m sure it’s a dream of his. We grew up seeing Michael Jackson, and I’m sure he grew up seeing whatever moment stuck in his mind, so I know it’s great for him to do that,” Hov told MTV News following a press conference announcing a pair of charitable shows at Carnegie Hall in New York. “I think he’s already won Best New Artist, to me. His journey is what I’m really excited about.”

….but then Drake was even more so but he lost to someone who already had 3 albums out yet was considered a “New Artist”

I hope Cole wins but the Grammys be on some bullshit they snubbed Kanye West and Drake for Best New Artist. But its a good look that the Grammys acknowledge 2 hip-hop atrist in the best new artist catagory. If they do give it to one of them they prolly give it to Nicki cuz she had more commercial success. But its the Grammys and The Band Perry are nominated we all know the Grammys would give a country artist the arward in every catagory if they could. So I hope Kanye spazz out shit they didn’t even give him a best album nomination.

@False Wiz is signed to a major label. He’s on Atlantic. I wish people would stop comparing Wiz and Cole. Wiz has been out a lot longer than Cole and Wiz has put out albums, not mix tapes, but albums that were for sale before Rolling Papers.

^ What best new artist grammy curse? Theres only been 2 hip-hop artist to win a grammy for best new artist Arrested Development & Lauryn Hill. Lauryn Hill went on to be a legend. Its a elite award that why Kanye was so upset. The Beatles, Sade, Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, John Legend, and Adele all won that award. If Cole gets it nobody say shit for the rest of career.

I hope J. Cole win this one and bring it on home. Shit I remember around this time last year before he went on tour wid Drake he blogged on Karen Civil’s shit and said he gone get a Grammy so he spoke that shit into existence. He worked hard for it not saying the other didn’t but when you from a place like Fayetteville that get recognized by the shootings and shit you don’t even think that you could make it to somethin like that.
