To commemorate his XXL covers, Fif invaded NYC’s Webster Hall last night with Hot 97’s Mister Cee on the 1s and 2s. With Kool Herc by his side, Fif hit the stage and performed some of his notable hits.

Hope this is a year that he puts out some of his best work. You would think that having all the money in the world would allow you the creative freedom. That seems to be the approach of Kanye and Nas, and to a lesser extent Jay. Perhaps 50 wasn’t encouraged by what I can only assume was an attempt at self expression on his most recent projects and will instead try to recreate commercial success. Or perhaps he will demonstrate true genius and accomplish both goals of artistic and commercial success.
50 got classics for days.

Rick Ross ended 50 Cent’s career and has been really blowing up in the rap game lately.

I won’t deny that ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin” was a great album. Both ‘Get Rich’ and ‘The Massacre’ have similiar topics, but ‘The Massacre’ lacks two essential things that made ‘Get Rich’ a classic: Dr. Dre beats, and 50 Cent’s charisma.
Firstly, Dre made two beats on ‘The Massacre’, and they’re bad! Second, on ‘Get Rich’, even though everyone knew 50 wasn’t an amazing lyricist, he still captured the listener with his cocky swagger and stunningly arrogant, booming voice. On ‘The Massacre’, 50 sounds bored, and none of the songs are as catchy because of his carelessness. None of those tracks are anywhere near ‘Get Rich’!

I see your point, but I never understood the hate on The Massacre. 50 showed us so many styles on it. Personal favorites are “ryder music” “position of power” (one of the best 50 songs), “somebody gon die tonight”, “gunz come out” ……
but yeah 50 was on another level on Get Rich.

You can clearly see that 50 is bored with performing. I think if he was to put in energy in his performance he would get that “passion” back.
