Francis Ocean speaks to BBC News on Odd Future’s influence on his music, working with The Throne and Beyonce as well as what we can expect of his commercial debut coming in the spring.
“It succinctly defines me as an artist for where I am right now and that was the aim, just to make something that represents where you are at that time. It’s about the stories. If I write 14 stories that I love, then the next step is to get the environment of music around it to best envelop the story and all kinds of sonic goodness—sonic goodies.”

I think it’s his second lp though because a fan asked him on his tumblr once if he considered Nostalgia/Ultra a mixtape or his debut and he answered the latter. Cool vid.
