  1. I think as someone that documents the culture, you sort of have to retweet everyone because that “1 incident” that you might choose to ignore can spark or change the landscape and you choosing to ignore it or not retweet it, you would’ve missed out on documenting or reflecting an important moment in our culture.

  2. jonnybusiness says:

YN is right rappers should just avoid each other and get that paper cos like the kid said at the end of the Gunplay incident these guys are millionaires it looks retarded to anyone outside the culture.Leave the ego inside the booth only winners are the jewish attorneys.

  3. Sarcastic A$$hole says:

Battling is part of the Hip Hop culture, from Buse Bee and Kool Mo Dee to Nas and HOV, battling keeps the culture alive, entertaining and generating money. Only problem is nowadays rappers are so easy to get murder on a diss track, they avoid it. Dudes ain’t scared of ending up like Pac and Big, they scared of ending up.like Ja rule.

  4. Commentator of Common Sense says:

The problem is instead of “rapping” about it niggaz are doing blogs and interviews and tweets about everything. I never seen so many “rappers” relevant for everything but their ability to rap. Stfu and make some music, I thought that’s what you came here for.

YeaHell Double Amen! I find it ironic how YN is talking about “journalists have to document the beefs but don’t make it seem like you’re hyping up the beef” Nigga you ALWAYS hype beefs and take sides as well. We see through you YN. Jay-Z paying you to work for him so you’ll always promote his shit just as Ross does for you. Nothing you’re saying is real. GTFOH

  10. kobe says:

Yall notice how the excerpt from the BET fight was the part where Gunplay swung on a dude that was tumbling down? When in actuality Gunplay got his ass whooped and sent to jail afterwards? Smh

  11. DaSaint says:

beef makes the shit exciting, you can’t just have every rapper be cool with each other thats fake

  12. STINKMEANER says:

yup, there is a reason people look down on hip hop and it is because mainstream rap artists act like idiot hooligans.

the beefs are just a part of this. it is even worse when you are talking about grown adult men in their 40s. millionaires. you will never see warren buffet “beef” with bill gates. hip hop artists, especially the biggest artists, need to learn how to behave and have some class.

the days of behaving like peasants who won the lottery is over.

YELLOW NIGGA! youre a fuckin hypocrite! bitch! you just posted a gucci and ross song supposedly dissing JEEZY. you need to get slapped up. only bitches get slapped. youre promoting this “beef” shit. and you have it all over your precious web site. i guess its all bout the money huh? you have no morals! i should have fucked you up at the jeezy show outside the house of blues on sunset. you left the show halfway through it. youre a pussy. gay ass nigga. die slow.

  17. County Of Kings says:

beef is killing the game on two levels. one niggas had to many fake beefs and beef now is looked at solely as a marketing gimmick and if somebody has real beef, somebody gotta die just for me to believe that shit. 50cent used the beef gimmick and completely killed it forever. he didnt start it tho, i say that pac and deathrow started the fake beef cycle. i believe it when biggie said pac told him that this shit is for sales and nothing more. it was the pattern of death row records to start beefs for publicity. dre vs easy e, then snoop vs easy e. then pac vs big, then pac vs nas, pac vs chino xl, pac vs. dr. dre after he left death row, then dr. dre signs eminem and all of a sudden eminem has “beef” wit all the white pops stars gaining him attention throughout the mainstream media. i remember seeing them talk about eminem vs christina agulara and britney spears on CNN of all places. then 50 cent under the same umbrella, same strategy. after all that i knew shit was marketing and it worked perfectly.
2nd level nobody dont want to directly associate wit hiphop, we can listen to it, but i dont want u niggas at my venue, at my arena, at my club at my superbowl halftime. its not lucrative at all. u can have ya problems but real niggas handle it privately not for youtube like all these niggas like to do.

  18. Christian says:

He’s right. too much beef, should focus on making better music.

  19. JustMyOpinion says:

First, we (gate keeps, blog sites, fans, radio personality) need to stop this myth of “competitive nature. Case and point, how many rappers that “beef” have lyrical capabilities? Seriously speaking, some of these guys aren’t known for their lyrical prowess, its more about “i’m from the street, you ain’t gonna just disrespect me” mentality. 50 Cent hasn’t produced (definitively speaking) an album in over 5 years, but the minute he states another rapper’s name everyone goes haywire.

Let’s be honest, these “beefs” are good for business its what “keep the lights on.” I do recall, everyone, namely Hot 97, was so focused on the Biggie & Tupac “beef” and the minute those cats passed away, they were the same station calling for unity in Hip-Hop, meanwhile I was thinking “weren’t you the one just playing all the records?”

Look, I am not saying WE are responsible for THEM, but if we’re going to use the words “competitive nature” let’s require that; lyrics. The game has been opened up to anyone that can create a repetitive hook and a catchy beat.

    R.I.P Competitive Nature

  20. Ramelo says:

They have…but honestly so have many other things. Look at it from this perspective, considering how bad Hip Hop music has been now for several consecutive years, this is a really good year for Hip Hop so far (Nas,Kendrick, Sean Price, RZA, Roc Marci, etc) but if this was 2005, it would be a down year. We gotta LONG way to go. Less ass kissing BS bloggers, dickriding like the founder of this site does, more balance, better projects from MC’s, less music & better quality, the sound returning to something rich & warm vs everything so electro & dance. Nas said it best…Pop chases us, we don’t chase pop!! Unfortunately alot of Hip Hop is still chasing pop!!

  21. KingJuggaNott says:

What has killed hip hop is the the criminal element. Take the criminal element out of hip hop and it’s something different. Take out the artists that glorify dope dealing in a way that they are not trying to OVERCOME dope dealing and leaving it alone. They want to act like they are still in the streets dealing dope and killing and shooting. Some of them still are–but that element has cost hip hop. It brings out a lack of artist responsibility–now nobody even cares how wild and over the top an artist is. It’s just acceptable for us to stoop so low and talk about dealing dope and trashing women. But it’s the criminal element that has a image to keep. They are the ones that will bring the guns and the beef that we are all too familiar with. In real life it holds the neighborhoods hostage–and in as an artform it is holding our music and our culture hostage. It’s all bullshit, we’re better than this.

  22. Whats beef, when people generally have a problem with each other that is going to be something that is going to take time and distance or bigger pay checks to make easy. 50 cent and Fat Joe was just on a stage together basically performing together (Joe was not rocking to I get Money though) but being up there with the Unit was a bigger moment.

Now afterwards things got crazy but that happens after most events where people do not like each other get a chance to see each other when they normally do not.

    @sundayhhtimes

  23. onanigga says:

Look the real problem is this. Poor and ignorant black people with little talent or intelligence are endowed with an intangible amount of wealth.

  24. M.T says:

i remember some niggas were always hyping some of these current beefs. They talk about hip hop being boring and how its full of soft rappers etc. but then when shit starts getting ugly, its “oh these dudes need to grow up” or “beefing is wack. someone’s gunna get killed”. The funny thing is the blogs and media may be the cause of some of these beefs. Take the Gucci and Jeezy beef for example, would that beef have reignited if Gucci wasnt asked about Jeezy? niggas knew Gucci and Jeezy dont get along yet they ask these questions in the hopes of starting shit so niggas could beef, cuz after all, its entertainment right? The hypocrisy is amazing sometimes. Also, there’s rarely a time when rappers beef on a competitive lyrical level. Most of the time it gets wayyy too personal and isnt entertainment anymore. I personally would just prefer good music and if a good diss track comes out of it for any reason, then it is what it is. Another thing is alot of these niggas beefing wont be satisfied until they get murdered. It is what it is.

  25. Deadprez says:

Calling bullshit… How they gona show clips of all the “beef” and negative shit while talking about how it shouldn’t be promoted..

    ROSS KILLED 50 CENT’S CAREER !!!!!!

  27. deez says:

truthfully its old bloggers not getting hip to the fact that old veteran rappers, are in fact trying too hard, and still posts their shit, instead of new, fresh acts, that are rising, (other then the one vinny chase recommendation), and not posting the shit that should be getting promo, and dicksucking a posting wack shit that is sent from artists on certain labels or know certain people…

  31. Rozay says:

This dude IamRealTalk is trolling hard, we get it nigga, you are not really serious you are trolling, the jokes over now, make a real comment and keep it moving, unfortunately beef is a lot of niggas guilty pleasure, but you don’t want anyone to get killed, if they kept it on wax it would be cool, I would actually like to see more rappers went at each other on records especially all the new breed of rappers, Big Sean, Wiz, Kendrick,Meek Mill, Drake Asap, J.Cole, went at each other on wax, they are our future superstars, the guard has changed from the older rappers to these guys whether you like them or not so why not let them go at each other.

  32. Slim Baller says:

Fabolous and Jeezy are 1000x better than Ross fuck outta here. Fuck 50 Cent too

  35. Your Life Is A Lie says:

Hip Hop started as a peaceful entertaining alternative to real street beef between the gangs back in the 70’s and now its turned into a negative outlet to push and promote the madness to the masses in exchange for a couple of nigger pennies. Joke on us…

  36. davfr2 says:

what the fuck? why dont they post the kurupt feat RBX “money(do it for me)” this some bullshit!

  37. GetMoney says:

No fueds are not killing hip hop, It’s these wack ass club rappers with their club music and bubble gum artistry and these shady record labels not wanting to build artist anymore they just sign whatever hot and prostitue them for a few dollars; also the hip hop genre has become to influenced by pop music

  38. 4Eva Na Day says:

co-sign @County of Kings, its the domino effect, i find this interesting too, how both Jeezy and Gucci-mane pretty much came out together(mainstream-wise) on that song “So Icy”. Jeezy got more popular from that song than Gucci and it was Gucci’s song, next thing you know BOOM these niggas beefin, Jeezy calling gucci a slob ass nigga, Gucci calling Jeezy a Crab, then Jeezy talking about the whole bounty thing and then Gucci smokes ole’ dude who ran up in his house. and this was happening during the 50-cent/ Game beef with his whole G-UNOT thing via 2005/2006. The word “competitive nature” gets taken too far

  39. @rowjayC.O.B says:

    Elliott Wilson makes me laugh

  40. How Wonderful... says:

Lets be honest, most of these rap dudes arent REAL. The music is a form of ENTERTAINMENT. These dudes are getting stuck in character and thats what riggers the beef along with the record companies. When its all said and done, beef is now killing hip hop. It didnt hurt it back when KRS and the Juice Crew were at it. If you think about it, if Tim Dog came out with “Fuck Compton” now, there would a rap world war. However, record companies, blogs and fans are responsible. Fans are responsible because record companies now that we as fans cant wait to see how the beef plays out. The fire is already burning, but sometimes we as fans subcontiously throw gasoline on the fire. Record staion personalities and blogs throw it out there for good interviews. Its like when BIG was coming up and blew up in94 and 95,, I remember everyone saying that he was real he was real, but when he died everyone that new him said “he wasnt violent ” “he wasnt like that”….your word is your wand

I LOVE BEEF!…BEEF WILL FOREVER BE PART OF HIP-HOP!… GOTTA LOVE IT!

  43. JERZZZ says:

Some of the best songs to ever come out of Hip Hop came from beef. The competitive nature of the game brings that out in men. Yes, its gone too far on many occasions. But sometimes loud mouth niggas just need a beating. UNFORTUNATELY, in Hip Hop embarassment of the beating leads to dudes getting murdered. Grown men, rich or not, in the music business and percieved role models or not, still get pissed off, still have individual issues with certain folks for real reasons and should be able to handle shit like men without a public lashing or repurcussional blog posts/magazine headlines.
Shit popped off at the B.E.T. awards. What you expect with a room full of people with problems with eachother. Blame B.E.T. for providing the venue for the clown show.
