  2. justinaire says:

T-Pain is a dumb ass. Does he really think that when all this bullshit is going on in the world that people want to hear how much money you dropped on a car and they want to hear it with you off key singing like a robot. Yes some of the worst rappers have the hottest songs just like how back in the days some of the most coon niggers had the highest rated TV shows. Nothing against his children or children children but when you develop a culture of materialism over substance and MOST of the hottest songs are BLATANT degredation of women, how you think your daughter going to grow up? How youthink your son going to grow up? And at least make SOME music that uplifts people and educates them..dont make it your ONLY thing if you dont want but make SOME of it SOMEWHAT beneficial to the people. YOU FUCKEN COON.

  3. flowsosikk says:

T Pain needs to shut the fuck up ASAP

  4. Shawn says:

No dumbass. Music was invented and has always been a form of communication. And YOUR ancestors used this communication during their darkest days…

As the great Goldie told Pretty Tony…”Stick yourself!!!”

  5. OVER! says:

THAT’S IT! I can’t take this minstrel bullshit no more so wack ignorant artists = financial success and fame and that’s what garners respect and adulation ?!?!? Your a fuckin idiot I hope you read this btw YOU ARE MUTHAFUCKIN STUPID! Lyrics dont matter…smh I bet being literate doesn’t matter either? So paper, popularity and pussy is all music is about now? Fuck this shit man it’s hopeless with jackasses like this.

  6. justinaire says:

If music didnt exist and there was this medicine that when taken released endorphins in the brain making people happy, but it was a delusional happy because it made them block out the world and overexposure of this was KNOWN to rot the brain…T-Pain would still sell it…with that logic.

  7. mac DIESEL says:

    @ T-PAIN

“GET BACK TO RAPPIN’…YA’LL T-PAININ’ TOO MUCH”!!!! BY JAY-Z… THE ONE THAT ENDED YA SHORT CAREER!!!! THE ONE THAT U TRIED TO DISS BUT LATER APOLOGIZED WIT YA HEAD BETWEEN YA TWAT!!!! I REBUKE U JIGABOO!!! I REBUKE YA COONISH MINSTREL WAYS!!!! SAVE YASELF MR. BOJANGLES!!! APPLE PIE BOJANGLES!!! AMEN

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!

  8. JERZZZ says:

IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT LYRICS THEN YOU NOT HIP HOP. KICK ROCKS NIGGA. NEXT!

  9. RapMusic says:

Fuck t-pain and his lame ass music.I love rap music because of the lyrics, thats what it is about, storytelling while rhyming.Somebody should smack his ass for even saying it.

  10. L.Ment says:

Nigga got DOA’d and got nothin else to do. SMH

  11. yung Dummy says:

wow this nigga T-pain is just fukkin up.

  12. Dman says:

Fuck t pain he dont know shit bout hip hop infact b dot no offence dude but this post was a waste of news

  13. i don’t take it as a guy with no respect for HIP-HOP so much as a guy trying to express he’s just trying to have fun with his music, and make music that makes people have fun.

also, i don’t consider him a hip-hop artist; he’s R&B. he mostly sings on his albums, about 70% singing at the least, and 30% corny, pop type raps. so it’s not like he’s destroying hip-hop or something. i can always listen to Jay Electronica anytime I want. also, t-pain makes his own beats so that makes him actually more talented than most hip-hop artists if you ask me, considering he has HITS for himself and other artists.

blah, blah, i’m talking too much. the point is, no big deal the guys says i love what i do, my craft, and here’s my focus when i do it.

  14. cpmedia81 says:

t pain….. you are from the state i reside. (gun shine state) but you and plies are the super coons in the industry. your legend in the biz is being tarnished with your jigaboo tendancies… and your fukery. u make good music but your being side tracked… dont worry about devil prayer jayz’s doa. u r the originator of auto-tune so u still have a chance. word of advice hire a public relations team. it worked and still working for snoop

  15. real talk says:

The fact that T-Pain stated that: Lyrics have nothing to do with music and some of the WORST rappers have the hottest songs because they make fun music.” This statement alone lets me know where hip hop is headed if we don’t make a change or bring some balance to the game! We have to start supporting the artists that are really LYRICAL…becauseT-Pain and those like him are a JOKE but the hip hop audience made him acceptable and bought into his bullsh*t because the radio industry made you believe he was HOT! Stop supporting bullsh*t and lets keep the hip hop culture ALIVe by supporting artists that are being creative and lyrical at the same time!!! We need to respect artists that bringing real issues to the forefront such as Nas. Fans are so quick to say an artist like Nas fall off because he is not colaborating with a whack a** artist like T-Pain ect. But what does a T-Pain bring to the table besides mediocre music?! Why not support Mos Def, Common, Jay Electronica or Dead Prez ect. Hip hop has been so unbalanced lately that the radio stations are force feeding us the nonsense. We don’t hear Jay Electronica, Mos Def, K’Naan, UGK or a Nas on the radio even when he has a hot song like “Hero” because the industry don’t won’t you to be able to have diversity they want to market one sound of music and for a very long time it was the sound of auto-tone and now its turned into modern day COONERY with songs like Stanky Leg by GS Boyz or Bricks by Gucci Man this is the type of music that represents hip hop. How is it showing respect to the culture if the WORST artists are being the FACE of hip hop? The commercial side of the hip hop game has definitely lost its lyrics and creativity. Nas made a Huge statement back in 2006 and although I don’t fully believe Hip Hop is Dead, but it damn sure has ashy lips, and rusty elbows”! Thank goodness for underground hip hop and artists such as the ones mentioned above!!! Sidenote: As much as I respect Jay-z he is not the only lyrical dude in the game or the only positive representation of hip hop. Nas. Em, Common, Ludacris or Andre 3000 are all lyrical artists who have mainstream success and bring a positive aspect of hip hop to the public as well!

  16. dmc says:

this is exactly why his music is being forgottin

  17. Nathaniel says:

“music was invented as another form of fun”

how fucking stupid do you sound. ACTUALLY…the shit was originally played by the angel lucifer before he got cast out of the heavens for acting up against God. and it’s sole purpose, in the beginning, was to praise and worship God. and as we know, God doesn’t change…he’s the same yesterday as he is today and forever…

but thats just if yall niggas wanna take it there. which i assume yall dont.

so i digress…t-pain is a fucking idiot. thats whats wrong with some of these niggas, all we want to do is have fun. as if life is a big joke. you’re a grown man and u just wanna giggle and dance and shimmy and nothing more. fuck outta here…thats cool and all, but that can’t be ALL its about.

“I’m like ‘we gotta find middle ground, we need balance.'” – Lil’ Wayne (ironic, i know)

    WE NEED BALANCE.

  18. obama says:

@Nathaniel… wow… so the big debate is whether music’s sole purpose is to praise god or just to have fun with? niggas is retarded…

  19. Nathaniel says:

    @ Billy Rae Valentine

EXACTLY. the nigga is an R&B artist. the fact that niggas actually thought DOA was a t-pain diss doesn’t even make since. why the fuck would jay-z diss a singer. he was telling the rappers, YOU AINT R&B ARTISTS, YOU’RE RAPPERS! GET BACK TO RAP. DJ were asking t-pain if he was offended, nigga you’re not even with hip hop…you’re with omarion, usher, trey songz, neyo and all them niggas. thats your constituents…

sigh. just had to get that off my chest. lol

  20. Nathaniel says:

    @obama

no….thats not the debate. reading comprehension is a vital skill. i was just correcting t-pain since he said IT WAS CREATED FOR FUN. <—that couldn't be further from the truth. once again, LIKE I SAID…

we need balance. THAT is my position. c'mon son. stay with me here…

  21. mike says:

How can yall be mad at Tpain? He did something and it WORKED! You cant force people to like something. so he must be doing SOMETHING right for him to have been that hot and sell that many records correct?

Don’t blame the artist. If anybody, it’s the fans you shoud be mad at. They are the ones listening and buying. You cant shove shit down peoples throat. They either like it or they dont…and like we have seen with soulja boy, d4l, franshise boys, new boys, llil jon etc….people are supporting so they are going to continue to make the music they make.

Sure, some dont care about rapping anf being lyrical and are only in this for the money. Like many artists have admitted themselves…notably birdman, triple c’s, and half of those southern artists.

There is music for everybody. If you dont like what Tpain is doing, then pop in your slaughterhouse CD and listen to real Hip Hop. How can you be mad at people if they are not connecting with YOUR favorite artist? You want to force everybody to like Lupe Fiasco, Royce 5’9, Cory Gunz etc? It’s not going to happen. You are wasting your time being mad. Just turn the station and dont support. Thats all you can do.

My only gripe is when they dont pay respect to the people who paved the way.

    eat a dick mike

  23. jus lo says:

    his career was an accident

  24. trey says:

He has somewhat of a point, but regardless lyricism is the only reason hip-hop has been able to stay around as long as it has. Can you imagine if Hip-Hop had never seen, Em, Lupe, Common, Mos all these super lyrical dudes.. we’d be dumber as a nation then we already are. If T-Pain is alright with selling all his records to dumb-ass 9 yr old girls, then thats fine by me.. just another major fail by an artist than has no clue about what he’s doing.. SMH

  25. trey says:

& mike does have some real valid points.. I’m one of the ppl who will not be tuning in tho.

  26. llll says:

T-Pain, u tweeting too much!!music is lyrics then beats!!if u don’t believe in that then fuck i don’t listen to ur music anyway!!i believe in lyrics specially when it comes to rap!!but R&B have had always been boring and the same concept!!!

  27. cardinprice says:

this shit has to be the funniest I’ve read in a while on RR….all comments hold some validity and weight to them…it’s preference yo…but @ MIKE…ya kinda lost me by sayin’ they CAN’T shove shit down our throats…really? well Drake is the result of ‘pushin’ shit down people’s throat’s…and it’s many more in this industry today…no matter where you go, the most visible ones are apparently being pushed down our throats (Diddy has/had the biggest promotional spot in times square, if that’s not shovin’ shit down ya throat then what is?)…get ya facts together my nig.

  28. Jonesss says:

black people and their ignorant opinions.

^^^^this is what is fucking up Music

  29. teejay says:

SMH, I don’t think anyone could have articulated clearer what is wrong with music today any better than T-Pain just did…

  30. Beats, RHYMES, and life……..thats what its all about.

  31. Thatdude. says:

I had a little bit of respect for tpain at one point.. nigga lost it with those dumbass statements.

  32. Mike says:

@ justin … you mad i got your mom pregnant?

@cardin ….Nobody forces you to like something. Nobody! It’s put in front of you…either you like it or you don’t. This isn’t a situation where you have no choice but to like it….like youre in jail and you must eat the food they give you or you die….artists put out music…you either support or think its wack and leave it alone

you know whats funny about this? I love real hip hop like the next man…but some of my favorite “real hip hop artists” cant make a good song to save their fuckin life…

hip hop as whole sucks dick right now…shit is boring

  33. nine inch..... says:

Yo mike that’s fucked up but what’s more fucked up is that I got your mom pregnant wit my nine inch and wit my…..Jizzzzzzzzzzz……

  34. nine inch..... says:

Yo mike hip hop may be boring but yo mama is definitely not. Especially when she playin wit my nine inch and wit my…..Jizzzzzzzzz…….

  35. AR says:

tpain is a fuckin flame this dude is embracing bad rappers fuckin retard

  36. Kid Esq. says:

I think some of the posters above are missing his point, as he clearly made a good one: Some of the worst rappers out right now are the hottest, because they make fun songs. How is T-Pain a bitch for finally saying something noticeable? The sad truth is, in today’s hip hop, lyricism is downplayed for fun. It’s being watered down, and sold as the genuine real deal. Between snap music and mafioso/trap/gangsta rap, Hip Hop today isn’t progressing pass the 90s, and is falling back into the clutches of mainstream bubblegum pop.

Now I’m not attacking any mixtures or other forms of rap. But all of us can agree that pop isn’t the way to go; and that this cookie cutter artist success formula needs to end. Unfortunately, that’s not up to “hip hop heads” to decide, but the majority buying power, which is that “mainstream” market…

…that brings us back to T-Pain’s point.
