The MMG sound has become over-saturated. Every beat is the same, every song concept is the same. A lot of people have taken that sound from MMG & their producers, which is a tribute to them, but it makes anything MMG puts out become just another face in the crowd. Rick Ross needs to get some new producers & look for a new angle. Besides the fact that the “empire” has yet to make any big crossover hit album, MMG hasn’t become a trendsetter.
I believe that Rick Ross and his crew will suffer the same fate that every other rapper who didn’t change their sound/business plan suffered. Becoming outdated.
Check Ludacris, Nelly, Lil Jon & Soulja Boy (to name a few) as examples.
