  1. Zephyr says:

Pretty cool, but Dave Grohl was not a founding member of Nirvana. He joined the band just before their second album.

    1. B.Dot says:

true. but, u don’t consider him a founding member tho? i mean, Nevermind was The Infamous for Nirvana

  2. Zephyr says:

Bleach was my personal favorite Nirvana album. So no.

  3. shit no one says says:

    Zephyr>>>>

  4. Zephyr says:

Don’t get me wrong, Dave Grohl is the shit. But they went from punk to pop-punk after he got there. The universal benchmark for pop-punk, sure, but you get a lot more attitude out of the Chad Channing stuff.

  6. @ B DOT
    I’m a NAS & NIRVANA STAN
    So thanks for this

    Also
Dave Grohl was on the 2nd album BUT, with exception of “Smells like teen spirit”
he was just copying the drum parts that were laid down in pre-production by a different drummer
In Utero , the 3rd album, was when Dave got to play his own style, beats etc

Dave Grohl is iconic tho, don’t get me wrong.
you think Nirvana you see all 3 of them
Krist, Dave & of course Kurt (or Kurdt, how he sometimes spelled his name)

@p0is0nedkoola…I was just telling a friend about that iconic review of Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks, and when I went to look it up….Author Lester Bangs…now I understand your tagline.

Dude could write! Big shoes to fill.

  8. @ rahrahrah

Those shoes could never be filled unless you had a passion fueled by coke (& every other drug) with a brain filled with a vernacular where the word “boundaries” didn’t exist.

However, I love hip hop, the culture & born/raised/living in NYC all my life I know hip hop in a very intricate way. from the many shows i’ve been to, artists i’ve known & producers i have worked with and studios i worked in as a jr engineer (terrible job btw)
I can’t stand how much we cherish the mediocre & yet I can’t help but put our beloved fallen artists on a pedestal

    Thus the tagline

Glad ya read that review. It’s brilliant and amazing!

If you’ve ever seen the movie “Almost Famous”
Lester Bangs is played by Philip Seymour Hoffman. and the main characters’s mentor

Sorry for the long reply to everyone else
