Mobb Deep “Tha World” (Unreleased, 1996)

My homie Robbie unearthed this lost session from Hell on Earth, Mobb Deep’s incredible third album. You’ll notice one of Prodigy’s verses was eventually used on “Nightime Vultures”. I swear trying to organize the Mobb’s extensive classic catalogue could give you a migraine. One of the greatest groups of all-time. All-time!

    Agreed.

  2. ojolo says:

    clipse are better.

  3. B.Dot says:

    No they’re not.

  4. Big Homie says:

Between The Infamous, Hell On Earth, and Murda Muzik, many would argue which one was their best album, but Hell On Earth is definitely my all-time fav. I remember cutting class my sophomore year to walk to the store in the rain to cop.

Red’s Muddy Waters came out few weeks later. What a great time in Hip Hop.

    No they’re not.
    ———-

    yes they are 🙂

  6. infamous says:

The Clipse are not better than Mobb Deep but they lost their fire after signing to G-Unit!

  7. SilkCityP says:

    clipse are better.

    ^^^^

No they aren’t!!! Clipse are 1 dimensional… Coke Rap & more Coke Rap

  8. Young Sha says:

The Clipse are not better than Mobb Deep but they lost their fire after signing to G-Unit!

    ^

They caught a lot of Anti-50 cent heat, their album on G Unit was good, not as bad as some people will have you believe. But with P behind bars you can’t expect Mobb Deep to be doing much.

Will be interesting to see what they do once P is out. They’re no longer signed to G Unit, 50 let P out of his contract so he could make some money before he did his bid.

  9. ojolo says:

yeah, i suppose mobb deep are really “multidimensional” when the talk about the coke and guns right?

and for the record, clipse>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb deep. tribe>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb deep. leaders of the new school >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb deep. public enemy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb deep. run dmc>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb deep. fuck, the firm>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb deep.

half the points these niggas get is because they started off in the 90s and muhfuckas living off their memories experiencing the music back then.

if you got a name like “infamous” or “silkcityP”, of course you are a mobb deep fan.

i don’t care about y’alls opinion on this. i think mobb deep are bunch of punk bitches that got their skirts exposed years ago by nas AND jay. now, when one of them isn’t being punched in the face by no-name rappers in the head despite the fact the got 134 goons in there or being sent to jail on some stupid shit or tatooing g-unit on their thumbs, their busy recycling the same breakbeats from the mid 90s and rapping about shit no one wants to hear anymore.

their music is your typical 90s music…nothing “multidimensional” as some of you dickheads seem to think. its different now and niggas big it up because we live in an era where the south is dominant and there is a drought of real lyricists.

    clipse are better.

    ^^^^^^^

Statements like this are the reason why Hip Hop is dying a slow miserable death. WHO RAISED YOU NIGGAZ???!!!

From Infamous to HNIC, nobody in rap has a better consecutive four album catalogue. PROVE ME WRONG!!

  11. MC says:

    @ojolo

I feel sorry for your mother

  12. B.Dot says:

    @ Ojolo

    Infamous & Murda Muzik >_____________

  13. ojolo says:

lets start off with jay: reasonable doubt, volume 1, volume 2, volume 3.

oh and i forgot. outkast>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb. atliens, aquemini, stankonia, speakerboxx/love below.

oh and i forgot wu-tang>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>mobb. 36 chambers, wu-tang forever, the w, iron flag.

and what is with the random 4 album catalogue challenge lmao! we forgetting the bullshit they’ve released since then? yeah, i know, ‘bloody money’ is the “tale of two cities” of 2000s era hip hop.

and you bringin’ in solo albums into this. wtf. then we could throw in albums like tical, ob4cl, ob4cl2, etc.

  14. DJ Rhude says:

lmao @ The Clipse are better

I like the Clipse, but c’mon anyone with any rap sense knows they ain’t fucking with the Infamous

  15. changeclothz says:

N****z comparing Mobb Deep legendz with clipse……………..fk what ya heard

  16. ojolo says:

rap sense? wtf is this? spider man?

imo hhnf>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>infamous. beats are better, lyrics are better. no tutoos in sight.

    my opinion.

i think mobb is wack on every level. the one exception is the verses they did on “it was written” but its mainly because i love that album in general and not anything by mobb in particular.

  17. MC says:

    ^^^^^^^

Did this stupid nigga name The W, Iron Flag, Volume 2 and Vol. 3???…You’re further proving my point. Do your Mobb research before you start talkin out your ass. Outkast is the only valid argument, and that’s just geographical. Because if you grew up in NY in the 90’s then you’d definitely put Mobb’s first 4 over Kast’s first 4.

Stop bloggin son. Save yourself further embarassment.

  18. ojolo says:

take the roids outta your ass for a second you hyperagressive two-bit meathead. how the fuck you proving your point when you including solo albums. dumb fuck.

yeah, those albums are better. so sue me bitch.

  19. B.Dot says:

    imo hhnf>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>infamous.
    ^
    *blankest stare all time*

  20. MC says:

    ^^^^^

So if Black Thought dropped Masterpiece Theatre it wouldn’t considered in The Roots catalogue?.Cuban Linx isn’t in the Wu catalogue??…LOL!…What a dickhead!

  21. ojolo says:

yup. i’m not budging. i think mobb are wack. i think that album is better. i didn’t grow up in your era so i don’t have the same affection for it.

i can see why ready to die and illmatic are so highly rated. mobb, nah.

its my opinion. why niggas gettin’ aggy lol.

  22. ojolo says:

“Cuban Linx isn’t in the Wu catalogue??…LOL!…What a dickhead!”–no you dumb fuck becuase it is a raekwon album NOT a wu tang album.

  23. AG 3000 says:

Mobb Deep was a great group. Their albums Murda musik, infamous and hell on earth are classic. But lets be honest, their career went completely downhill after Jay-Z smashed Prodigy on that Summer Jam screen. They started to brick big time, made a horrible label choice and put out complete garbage. In the 90s, top 10 group, this decade, probably in the low 20s.

  24. wanker man says:

one of the most underrated groups of all time. Havoc with the production and P with his pen game! Drop a gem on em!

  25. mac DIESEL says:

MOBB DEEP WAS ONE OF THE BEST HIP HOP GROUPS TO EVER DO IT!!! THEY SHOULDA NEVER SIGNED WIT G-UNIT!!!! THAT”S THE ONLY BLEMISH ON THEIR LEGACY!!!! THOSE MOBB DEEP ALBUMS WAS NO JOKE!!! QUEENS ALL DAY NIGGAS!!!!

    DON’T HATE ON MY OPINION!!!!!

  26. DJ Rhude says:

    @ ojolo

Your arguments lost all credibility when you said Mobbdeep was wack on every level.

We’re talking about a very influential rap group, who created their own lane, had their own sound, came up with their own terms that everyone STILL copies. And I didn’t even get to the part about how dope of a producer Havoc was.

And when Prodigy was in his prime and still cared, he was one of the best out. Nobody can dispute that shit.

Clipse is dope but they’re not on Mobb’s level nor will they have the same impact that Mobb did.

  27. MisterUpgrade says:

Why has OutKast been ignored? C’mon man. Let’s think timeless. Multi-faceted, universal appeal. We will hear our grandchildren sampling them. Believe it.

  28. ojolo says:

dj rhude: oh please. you acting like these niggas created hip-hop. do you have mobb deep written on your thumb too?

they were a decent group waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the 90s. since one or two “okay” albums. now they put out bullshit project after bullshit project.

the production was okay but nothing that is really different that the general east-coast style in the 90s; production wise, havoc has made some okay beats but nothing to wet your pants over.

lyrically, these cats are average. fat joe is better than these fools. thats how wack mobb deep are. *as a group*, they are wack. havoc is tolerable i guess but prodigy is nails on a chalkboard.

ironically, mobb fans are shook ones.

and misterupgrade: exactly. outkast all days niggas.

  29. ojolo says:

correction – they were a decent group waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the 90s. they put out one or two “okay” albums then. now they put out bullshit project after bullshit project. 10 fucking years of hot garbage.

  30. NEKS says:

DONT EVEN HAVE TO READ ANY COMMENT. YN I ON POINT> MOBB DEEP THREE CLASSIC ALBUMS! back to back! other groups or rappers dont even have 1…

Clipse cool and all…but chill this is Murda musik!

  31. Drucifer says:

Whoever said Clipse are better than mobb deep should kill themselves.

  32. obama says:

Mobb Deep definitely have left an indelible mark on hip hop… That’s not an opinion… It’s a statistical fact… As far as a bunch of fans getting into a big debate about who’s better… C’mon son! It’s not like you’re on here having a comment for comment discussion with HIP HOP HIMSELF! Just a bunch of dudes with their own (valid) opinions… So some kid ain’t feeling Mobb Deep.. Who gives a fuck?! I don’t personally like MC Hammer’s music, but I don’t need anybody trying to convince me that he’s relevant to the culture of Hip Hop… That’s just common sense… Regardless of my opinion…

  33. Detroit Daily says:

Whoever believe the Clipse are better than Mobb Deep don’t know rap point blank. Its not even worth arguing…

  34. e20 says:

Stop it, there is no denying the Mobbs first 3 albums.

Are the Clipse better than Mobb Deep right now I’d have to say yes but the Clipse have yet to have a run like the Mobb did in the 90’s.

Album for album Mobb Deeps First 3 albums are better than the Clipse.

  35. Ac@pella! says:

Fuck their catalog. Yes, Mobb Deep will go down in hip hop history as on e of the greatest groups of all time, BUT unlike Outkast, The Clipse, etc. These niggaz haven’t evolved with the time. Sorry, hate all u want, but they fell off big time. And the Clipse r only on their 3rd album in 3 years and have evolved with more mature subject matter than coke n shit on Til The Casket Drops. Raekwon came back 14 years later and made a classic album talkin bout the same shit, so niggaz evolve by picking up where they left off and mature at the same time, but back to M-O-B-B. Those niggaz fell off because they were makin the same soundin’ shit like it’s still 1994 and personally, this fuckin song sucks! That’s y it’s unreleased for a reason….Dickheads…

  36. TITAN says:

    TO ALL,

SHUT THE FUCK UP AND SUPPORT YOUR HIPHOP PIONEERS IN JAIL. PRAY FOR HIS RELEASE SOON…FOR WHEN HE IS, AND THEY DROP AN ALBUM THAT SAVES RAP FROM THE HIPHOP POLICE AND COCK SMOKERS LIKE OJOLO, WHO CANT SEEM TO REMOVE THE DEBRI OF JAY-Z’S SEMEN FROM HIS GUMS, WILL CONTINUE TO BASTARDIZE AUTHENTIC HIP HOP, RESULTING IN ANOTHER ART FORM CREATED FROM GENETICALLY SUPERIOR MELANITE BEINGS RAPED AND TRANSFORMED INTO ANOTHER MEDIA TOOL FOR THESE STUPID VULGAR UGLY AMERICAN DEATH SUCKERS. OJOLO, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM MAKING ANY FURTHER IDIOTIC ANALYSIS OF HIP-HOP PIONEERS, U LUPE FIASCO ASS NIGGA.

  37. QUEENZ says:

Mobb Deep is def one of the best rap groups ever. Im from Queens and trust me im not being biased. The Mobb Deep we knew before the signed to G-Unit and became VIP and Hollywood Hav these niggas was just Hav and P. No one pops shit on a record like Prodigy can. Nevermind all the shit you heard about P being soft on the streets, When it comes to that crime rhyme, that gritty dirty New York Rap, Mobb Deep is in deep one of the best rap groups ever.

  38. QUEENZ says:

@ Ac@pella! did you really just say that The Clipse evolved? Seriously? The Clipse can’t see the Mobb on their worst day. Trust me, theres no contest there. Mobb is too gritty.

  39. QUEENZ says:

Beats by Havoc / Bars by Prodigy…..you cant go wrong!
