Usually I give stupid rappers a pass, Why? Because you never knew who you were to begin with. You were taught that your history began with slavery and you were never taught that within the black mind exist the foundation of almost all knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and intellectual creativity on the planet since the time of the Moors and even before other ancient civilizations etc… I could go on but the point is a give dumb rappers a pass but Lupe? i havent heard this song but i know im going to be dissapointed. I disagree with this nigga below me, Lupe is one of the best artists and he delivered 2 classic albums, but lets be honest nigga, lupe is still lyrical but hes lost that musical bliss, like listen to “hurt me soul” and listen to anything after “the cool” the nigga has lost it, so to say why are people messing with kendrick but not lupe isnt really a question. Lupe used to connect now he drops songs like papercup of jayzus, that song sounded like he read from a dictionary-

That sounds like a cop out and an excuse to quit imo. Lupe has talked about how he just wants to give up because of the “lack of reaction” to his music when he releases a smart record and I can understand him getting tired BUT when you the only MC out here with the skills to do it? Its different. If Lupe wanted he could keep up them complex rhymes forever, he’s knows what his own mind is capable of and to see him just cave in under what the industry standard of dope is a cop out imo. Im not mad at Lupe and I fully understand the pressure of the game but since he’s from Chicago he should definitely know that shit is too real out here to keep feeding these niggas musical junk food. Jay Electronica never came out, Common is not really listened to by the young niggas anymore and even when he was, its not like they fully understood him, Ab Soul barely scratches the surface of conscious rap (its still early in his career though), so again when Lupe is really the only one left with a skill level and position to actually say something worth people listening too?
