“More Than A Game” Is A Slam Dunk

Spoiler Alert: More Than A Game is not the LeBron James story. Sorry. Hate to break it ya. The real story revolves around Coach Joyce II and the camaraderie of five high school ballers: Sian, Dru, Willie, Romeo and, oh yeah, LeBron. Filmed over the course of nine years in Akron, Ohio, director Kristopher Belman chronicles the quintet’s transition from the blacktops to two State titles. But with success comes complacency. And as LeBron’s stock rose, so did the criticism. Do Hummers and throwback jerseys ring a bell? Eventually the “Fab 5” straighten up and earn a National Championship in 2003. Compelling as well as entertaining, More Than A Game is awesome, baby. And that’s with a capital B.
it sounds like lebron’s story to me… he’s the one that ended up with the hummer and the quadro-billion dollar contract.
Ha. Yeah, he’s the focal point. But it’s deeper than that.
