I’m with you here, all these fake ass purists need to get over themselves. Music is music and i appreciate it all. If i want that lyrical miracle ya’ll into i know where to go, when i want energy which is mostly associated with Trap music these days i know where to go. No one’s asking for “Lyrical Miracle” rap. We just want the songs to be coherent. Biggie, Ma$e, Pun, Jay even Kendrick made club bangers and Coherent music. That’s like saying its okay to be served half cooked food at a restaurant because you’re really there for the atmosphere. Believe me, I don’t view my opinion as the end all, be all of hip-hop music, especially since my taste tends to gravitate more towards what Papose would call “Weirdo Rap.” I just feel people tend to use the “This is music to turn up to” excuse a lot, to let bad music get a pass cause its popular. At the end of the day its all subjective. Shit, even Vanilla Ice has a platinum plaque so I cant call it.
